Samsung is expected to reveal the new Galaxy S25 range at its Galaxy Unpacked on January 22, which has made the previous models more affordable
Samsung is hours away from unveiling its latest Galaxy smartphone. The tech brand is expected to reveal the new Galaxy S25 range at its Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, on Wednesday, January 22.
While official details of the new release are being kept under wraps, the event is expected to act as a showcase for the new S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra phones. Galaxy Unpacked is scheduled for 6pm UK time on January 22 and can be streamed live on Samsung’s website.
But while the attention of tech fans around the world will be focused on the new S25 range, it’s worth taking a look at the latest deals for the previous models, which have just become more affordable with the looming release of its successor. Amazon has cut £195 off the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, reducing it to £1,054 from the usual £1,249 when buying outright.

For those who prefer to pay monthly, Mobiles.co.uk is offering the phone on iD Mobile’s 100GB plan for £39.99 per month, plus £9 upfront. If you need more data, iD Mobile’s 500GB plan is also £39.99 per month, with the only difference being a £29 upfront cost.
If you’re unfamiliar with iD Mobile, the brand is a part of the Currys family and provides mobile coverage using the Three Mobile network. It’s achieved a 3.9-star rating on Trustpilot, which may not sound great, but it is higher than EE’s 1.5 and O2’s 1.2.
One reviewer said: “Highly recommend iD Mobile. Excellent value for money, excellent coverage. Contract purchased for my daughter’s first phone. I will definitely be switching as soon as I can get out of my current contract.”
Another said: “The best mobile service provider. Having been with other mobile providers for long periods of time, I have to say iD Mobile is the best value for money I have ever had. The price is second to none with good coverage. I would highly recommend iD Mobile.”
However, as always when signing up for a new mobile contract, it’s always worth checking the coverage in your area, as one reviewer noted: “A good general service but does have a few local back spots but these are contained to small areas.”
Despite this, their five-star review said: “A good general service provider. The pricing is very competitive with all calls and text included in your monthly charge, the pricing is extremely competitive for data. When moving to iD it was very easy and fast my number was transferred with no problem.”
Mobiles.co.uk also has options for unlimited data for those who prefer to browse and stream without limits, with Vodafone’s £53 per month plan a good option and low upfront cost of £9.99. All the above plans run for 24 months, but keep in mind that mobile networks will be increasing their monthly prices from April 1, with the new amount dependent on the current monthly rate.
Elsewhere, Samsung direct has cut £150 off at £1,099, as well as offering up to £490 when trading in an old smartphone, but these deals end on Tuesday, January 21. If Apple is more your thing, Sky Mobile is currently offering the iPhone 16 for £24 per month when paired with one of its data plans, including the 50GB for £10 deal.
This is a 36-month contract, but Sky will let you upgrade for free from 24 months, so you’re not tied to an out of date device once a new model is released.
