A tourist who was arrested for visiting the world’s most isolated tribe and leaving them a can of Coca-Cola as an “offering” has been exposed as a YouTube prankster. Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, 24, was branded “idiotic” for his latest stunt to the forbidden island but the internet clown has also previously visited the Taliban.

The American influencer risked his life and travelled nine hours in a rubber dinghy to reach North Sentinel Island, where the native people are nearly all untouched by the modern world and are known to kill visitors. “Idiot” Polyakov set of for the isolated island at 1am on March 29, from a beach on South Sentinel Island, police said.

He then used binoculars when he reached the northeastern shore of the island, in the desperate hope he would see one of the natives. Polyakov then blew a whistle for an hour in a mad attempt to attract attention from the locals, he told police.

When the Sentinelese people did not respond to the American, he bizarrely got onto the island and waited on the beach for a few minutes before leaving a Coke can and a coconut as offerings. The thrill-seeker recorded a video from North Sentinel Island before returning to his boat for another hour.

Polyakov was quickly arrested when he returned to South Sentinel Island, where local fishermen reported the prankster to the police. He faces charges for visiting the protected island without permission and leaving the potentially deadly can.

His actions sparked fear as the Indian government has long prohibited visitors from entering their territory to protect the tribe from outside diseases. This has not been the first criticised journey this YoutTuber has made.

The US national travelled to Afghanistan to meet the Taliban and even posed for pictures with the militant fighters while the YouTuber wielded a huge gun. The “idiotic” American even borrowed swords from the terror group to pose for more tasteless pictures.

After his bizarre visit, Polyakov posted a series of six videos called “Taliban-Controlled Afghanistan Through American Eyes”. He depicted his three-week stay and filmed himself talking to locals and terror fighters.

The videos caption said: “Join me as I navigate one of the most dangerous and unquestionably the most conservative country in the world.” Polyakov even filmed himself exploring an abandoned US military base in the Taliban-run country.

The last person to attempt a visit North Sentinel Island was 26 year-old Christian missionary John Allen Chau. He went to the isolated land illegally in an attempt to convert the natives but they killed him by shooting arrows at the young American.

The Sentinelese reportedly also killed two fishermen who were illegally angling in nearby waters in 2006. Since 2004, North Sentinel Island has been protected by a five-mile exclusion zone.
