A pair of Brits were killed in a horrifying car crash in the port city of Agadir in Morocco on the weekend. Two others survived the ordeal but endured injuries ‘of varying severity’

Two British tourists have tragically died following a freak crash which saw their vehicle topple over onto its roof in Morocco.

Emergency services raced to the port city of Agadir following the horror crash which took place on Sunday morning.

According to local media, two people were declared dead and were taken to the morgue in the hospital. Two other British holidaymakers and the driver managed to survive the incident.

They were “quickly transported” to the Hassan II Regional Hospital after they endured injuries “of varying severity”. An investigation has since been launched to determine the cause of the crash.

Pictures from the scene showed the horror aftermath of the crash including a wrecked car, with a battered roof and doors.

Last month, three people dodged death after a plane crashed into a wall after landing in Morocco.

The aircraft skidded off the tarmac as it came into land at Fes Sais International Airport in Fes, on April 11. The jet ended up in a field, where it made impact with the perimeter wall.

Luckily, all three crew members aboard the plane survived the ordeal. The three victims suffered various injuries along with an individual on the ground, according to officials. They were rushed to a hospital close-by for medical treatment.

Morocco’s transport ministry said: “This collision caused significant damage to the aircraft.” A spokesperson for the Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics said at the time: “All necessary measures will be taken to shed light on this accident and ensure air transport safety.”

The Mirror has contacted the Foreign Office for comment.
