Snow forecast in the UK could see frigid conditions in parts of Scotland, with the rest of the UK bracing itself for a period of unpredictable weather, with rain, fog and frost all expected

The UK can expect patches of snow in the coming days as a weather map shows exactly where and when the weather will change.

Brits in the northernmost parts of the country should brace themselves for snow while the rest of the country is hit with frigid temperatures bringing cold conditions. As “unsettled” conditions may be seen across the country in the coming weeks, according to the Met Office, some are preparing for the worst of the unpredictable weather.

WXCharts suggests there will be spots of snow in the UK this evening (Saturday, October 12) as parts of Inverness and below are affected by the change in weather conditions. These conditions are set to last until the following day (October 13).

Today will feel “cold overall” according to Met Office forecasts and tomorrow fares no better for those in the UK. Tomorrow’s forecast reads: “Windy along eastern coasts as rain clears during Saturday evening. Then dry with clear spells overnight as winds ease. Chilly for all with widespread frost in the north.”

Longer term forecasts suggest the erratic weather will bring rain, frost and fog over the course of Wednesday, October 16 to Friday, October 25. The purple patches on the WXCharts map and the outlook proposed by the Met Office are independent of one another but both suggest colder temperatures are on their way.

“Through the second half of next week conditions will be very unsettled with rain affecting most regions at times,” the Met Office wrote. ” Following the rain, a drier and brighter interlude is probable, before conditions turn unsettled once again by next weekend. Later in October, there is a chance of more settled conditions developing, but with temperatures falling closer to average and some overnight frost and fog.”

Those unsettled conditions are set to continue well into November, with the Met Office urging members of the public to take note of the weather in southern regions of the UK. Their long-term forecast reads: “Potentially some wet and windy weather at first, especially in the northwest, but a trend towards more settled conditions is most favoured for late October as high pressure becomes increasingly dominant.

“This would bring the potential for frost and fog at night, and possibly large variations between daytime and overnight temperatures. Into early November, high pressure may become more centred to the northwest of the UK, resulting in a gradual trend towards more unsettled conditions, particularly across southern regions.”
