If you fancy boosting the content on your TV then Virgin Media has blockbuster deal for just £1.

There’s not much you can get for £1 these days, but Virgin Media is offering a big content boost for that very low price. Yes, for less than a weekly loaf of bread, you can currently sign up for a swathe of films to watch from the team at MUBI.

For those not aware, MUBI is a premium streaming service that offers access to world movies. It usually costs £11.99 per month, but Virgin says its users can watch for three whole months and pay that tiny £1 fee.

Once signed up, Virgin users will be able to enjoy movies such as five-time Oscar-nominated film The Substance starring Demi Moore, Past Lives, Aftersun, Priscilla and La Chimera. There are also movies fresh from cinemas, such as Luca Guadagnino’s Queer, starring Daniel Craig.

It’s a decent deal but the offer isn’t around for long with Virgin saying you must join before February 9 or you will miss out.

“Virgin TV is the home of great value entertainment,” said David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2.

“Whether it’s providing our customers with access to channels or content at no extra cost, or offering opportunities to enjoy popular subscriptions for less, we’re always looking to give our customers something extra to enjoy.

“That’s why this awards season we are offering our customers a money-saving reward with MUBI, delivering them Oscar nominated content and more for only £1 over three months.”

Virgin says MUBI, will be discounted for Virgin TV customers who don’t currently have a MUBI account, saving them over £30 during the offer period.

Customers can access the money-saving reward directly via their set-top box, through a QR code which is visible on the MUBI app. Once signed up, customers with a Virgin TV 360 or Stream box can sit back, relax and enjoy MUBI’s hand-picked selection of great cinema.
