Vodafone’s broadband and phone network is down, with homes and users across the UK losing internet access.

If you are trying and failing to get online today or use your phone to make a call, you are not alone. Vodafone’s broadband and mobile networks are currently down and not working. The gremlins appear to have begun at around 3pm and are still ongoing.

Vodafone has now confirmed the issues, saying it was aware of a “major issue on our network affecting broadband, 4G and 5G services”.

In a statement the company said: “We appreciate our customers’ patience while we work to resolve this as soon as possible.”

According to the latest data from outage monitor Down Detector, there are thousands of reports that Vodafone’s broadband and network aren’t working right now. In fact, at its peak, there were some 120,000 complaints, making this a major outage.

Along with Down Detector, there are plenty of reports flooding sites such as X (formerly Twitter).

One user called LDdex, posted a message saying, “@VodafoneUK broadband has gone down. None of my apps are working from Vodafone and your number is not working have you got issues?”

And another user, named Decoded, added, “Vodafone has gone down nationwide, affecting ALL customers.”

Confirming that all services aren’t working, user Aditya added, “@VodafoneUK Broadband down, phone internet down. My personal and work phone and home broadband with Vodafone, realised the mistake, as cannot work from home.”

To add to the nightmares, the Vodafone website and smartphone app are also down, which means people can’t check their phones or the status of their service.

With so many people now reliant on broadband and phone services to work and stay entertained this is clearly a very serious outage for Vodafone. The fact that it’s impacting so many users across the whole of the UK will also be giving their team of technicians a serious headache.

“An hour down and no closer to the internet working. Come on Vodafone I’m bored,” said customer Abbey – that’s something a lot of users will be feeling right now.
