With energy prices increasing, this could be a great alternative to stay warm
As Brits were hit with a rise in gas and electricity prices in October thanks to the new energy price cap, it comes as no surprise that shoppers are on the look out for ways to keep themselves warm without having to fork out hundreds of pounds on bills. Now, they may be in luck, as the Teddy Electric Blanket is available from Dunelm for between £35-£50 and it is said to be cheaper to run than having the heating on.
The blanket can fit a range of bed sizes – single (£35), double (£40), kingsize (£45) and super kingsize (£50) – so there is an option for everyone. It is made from 100% polyester and has ‘soft teddy bear texture’ which makes it cosy and warm to snuggle up in.
Of course, it is heatable and is said to be ideal for the autumn and winter seasons. With 70W of power, the blanket would cost less to run in comparison to having the heating on as USwitch reports a 90W blanket would cost around 18p per night and £67.61 per year, overall saving shoppers a chunk of money.

For a slightly cheaper option, Dreams also has its Dreams Luxury Comfort Heated Blanket available for £17 which fits a king sized bed. This blanket comes with three heat settings, is made from 100% soft touch polyester cover and is machine washable at 40 degrees.
Argos also has its Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Underblanket available for a range of sizes: single (£35), double (£40) and king size (£45). This blanket is made from polyester, has three heat settings and only takes a quick 10 minutes to heat up before using it.

The Teddy Electric Blanket has a 4.6 out of 5 star rating on the Dunelm website, however. One person said: “Warm and cosy, great fit for a double bed, much cheaper than having the heating on. Arrived in a storage bag too which is handy. Would buy again.”

Another said: “Cost-effective and decent electric blanket. The display clarity, especially when the backlight times out, is poor. You have to switch between settings to see what you have selected. However, we had a super king size and it’s certainly good value for money.”
