Wayne Rooney has been out of work since December after being sacked by Plymouth Argyle but is set to get back into coaching next month

Wayne Rooney has netted a lucrative job days after being sacked by Plymouth, running a soccer school for rich kids.

The manchester-united-fc>Manchester United legend will pitch up at a Dubai luxury hotel over the February half-term to head Train With Wayne sessions. The course will be a change of pace, and climate, for the former Three Lions skipper, who played 120 times for England.

Wayne may be joined 4,500 miles from the family’s £20million Cheshire mansion by wife Coleen, last month’s runner-up in I’m A Celebrity, and their four sons.

It is likely to be about 25C, far warmer than the 6C January average in Plymouth, whose side may be bottom of the Championship, but sprung a huge FA Cup upset following Rooney’s dismissal.

His seven months at the south coast club followed a torrid spell at Birmingham City, where he was fired after just 83 days.

Wayne, 39, will run coaching drills at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, where a seven-day holiday for a family of four, including the course but excluding flights, starts at £7,500.

A source said: “Not long ago he was in the dugout in one of the toughest league’s in the world. This is a different gig. It’s nice to see Wayne’s still passionate about passing on his skills to the next generation of footballers. He could unearth the next Rooney.”

Football Escapes, which is running the sessions, says: “Wayne Rooney’s debut with Football Escapes promises to deliver world-class coaching and an experience your family will cherish forever.

“While the children learn from one of football’s most celebrated players, parents can relax by the private beach, indulge in fine dining, or explore the many family focused activities the resort has to offer.”

Former Football Escapes ambassadors include Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen, Teddy Sheringham and Peter Crouch.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel boasts a kilometre-long private white-sand beach, views of the Arabian Gulf and a “superyacht-peppered marina”, restaurants and a world-class spa.

Wayne made his professional debut at 16 for Everton and became Man Utd’s record goal scorer. And Teddy Sheringham – who won the treble at Old Trafford – believes Rooney could make a positive impact as a striking coach back at his old club, namely on the struggling Rasmus Hojlund.

Having scored just seven goals in 23 games this season, the former England international believes under the guidance of Rooney, the Dane could see improvement in front of goal. “Would Wayne Rooney be a good striking coach? Without a doubt,” the ex-United and Spurs forward said via BoyleSports.

“I think it is a very important role nowadays. There are set-piece coaches, back four coaches, striker coaches and Wayne’s been one of the top players in the country.

“Could he help Rasmus Hojlund? Of course. He’s an experienced player that’s played for his country a hundred times and scored goals at the top level. So any advice from him you would have to listen to.”
