A couple who wanted to give their lives some adventure decided to move 500 miles away so they could visit Disney World every single day to experience the magic. They’ve revealed one misconception about the resort
While everyone remembers the magic of Disney as a child – one couple still relish in it, and visit Disney World every single day.
Jessica and John Pruitt, 42 and 56, are arguably the world’s biggest Disney fans, practially living at the famous resort. And they say there’s so much more to it ‘than just Mickey Mouse and rollercoasters.’
The pair wanted to switch up their mundane suburban lifestyle and make a real change, so they decided to move over 500 miles to Florida to be closer to Disney. As they visit so much, they are more than just regulars at the park, and have made long lasting relationships with the staff.
“We love Disney World. There is so much more to do and see than just Mickey Mouse and roller coasters. I can’t even count the amount of times we have been. We have lived here for a little over two years now,” Jessica explained.
Their decision to embrace a Disney-centric life was inspired by a family member who postponed enjoying life until retirement, only to find that they couldn’t enjoy the things they had worked so hard for. They waited until their children were old enough and settled before the adventerous pair embarked on their Disney adventure.
The pair now live in Davenport, Florida, just seven miles from Disney World after moving from Charlotte, North Carolina. Not only did they want to be closer to the home of Mickey Mouse, they were also desiring a more active lifestyle. Now eager to show the world there is so much more to the famous holiday destination.
For over two years, Jessica and Wes have made Disney World their second home, attending in some form nearly every day of the week. Sharing their adventures on social media, the couple receives overwhelmingly positive responses, though not everyone fully understands their unique lifestyle.
Explaining their choice for their unique way of life, Jessica said: “My husband and I go to Disney World every day but it’s not what you think. We used to eat at the same five restaurants in a small suburb of Charlotte and sit on the couch every night. We didn’t want that to be the rest of our story, so, we made a change.”
She said they are on Disney property in some way “almost every day of the week”, and that can include popping in for a coffee, to watch the fireworks or to listen to some live music at Disney Springs. “We have made friends with some of the staff. We go so much that we get the unique experience of being regulars.”
