Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore got together on Love Island 2024 but their romance was short-lived, with the footballer confirming their split just three months later

Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore’s romance blossomed on Love Island 2024, but their love story was short-lived, ending mere weeks after they exited the villa hand in hand.

Now, Ronnie, who has the support of his pals Olivia Attwood and Bradley Dack behind him, is currently in the All Stars villa, and his former flame Harriet has been confirmed as a new bombshell to join him soon for a dramatic reunion. Let’s delve into the reasons behind their breakup.

Asked about whether she’d look to get back together with Ronnie or explore of options on the show, Harriett shared: “Explore new connections… but I definitely need to have a conversation with Ronnie though, I think that’s important. I don’t know how I’m going to feel when I see him, I haven’t seen him in months, we last spoke in September.”

The pair hit it off on Love Island 2024 in June, leaving the villa together on day 26, seemingly smitten. However, just three months later, they decided to part ways. Hints of the split surfaced when their fellow Love Island contestant Matilda Draper shared a TikTok on September 7, 2024, featuring Harriett and captioned “When your bestie is single with you”, signalling the end of the relationship.

The news came as a shock to fans, particularly as Ronnie had recently denied allegations of infidelity and insisted they were “loved-up”. Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he revealed that he was considering making Harriett his girlfriend in the near future. Ronnie shared: “Even when the story came out, I said to Harriett, I FaceTimed that night, so she knew straight away what happened. So it was brushed under, and other than that we’ve been so good. We just had a little trip to Italy together. I met her family, and she’s met mine — the parents, and everything is going so well. I’m really looking forward to our next chapter together.”

Despite the quick escalation of their relationship in the villa, they may not have been ready for a serious commitment. Harriett revealed that both she and Ronnie needed some self-improvement.

Speaking to HeatWorld, she said: “I think we both need to work on ourselves and he’s the most amazing boy ever and I’ve shared such a special experience with him.”

Harriett also suggested that they might have rushed into things, a common occurrence among Love Island couples. She expressed a wish to slow things down, stating: “I think we just need to take things slower because, like with everyone else, we rushed into it.”

Cheating rumours also played a part. Although Ronnie strongly denied any allegations of infidelity, the rumours could have added stress to their relationship.

Ronnie was seen getting cosy with a beautiful teacher during a night out in Milton Keynes. However, he later clarified that this was merely part of his public appearances and photo opportunities with fans.

He explained: “I’ve been doing PAs, and obviously I’m going to take photos with girls and whatever, but there is nothing else, and she knows that, and obviously that’s the life we live now. If someone is close friends with me, and I’m talking to her, someone is going to try to take a photo, and that’s what it can look like.”

The transition from the controlled environment of the Love Island villa back into the real world can also be challenging for many.

The strain of public attention and the challenge of managing a relationship while dealing with newfound fame likely contributed to their breakup. Harriett confessed to The Sun: “I love him so much but it just didn’t work as a relationship and that’s fine. We shared the most amazing experience together and I always have so much love and respect for him.”

She also responded to criticism from Love Island fans who accused them of pretending their romance for the cameras and to advance their careers.

She retorted: “It’s not often you share a villa experience with someone — and if people are calling it a showmance, it simply wasn’t a show. We have a special connection and I’ll always treasure that. It’s time for hot girl winter! ” As for a potential reconciliation, Harriett did not entirely rule out the possibility. She clarified: “I’m not saying no, but for now we’re taking a break from the relationship.”
