There a few more deals to come after Black Friday, but they’re online only – here is everything you need to be aware of
In the lead up to Christmas, shoppers can take advantage of a huge worldwide sale in November known as Black Friday. Whilst you’ve probably seen lots of offers already about now, the big event doesn’t actually come until later in the month.
Traditionally, the event takes place after the Thanksgiving celebrations in America. But, the custom has been adopted in other countries around the world and has also started being stretched out earlier in November.
Right after Back Friday – which this year is on November 29 – comes Cyber Monday. Retailers tend to offer a few exclusive offers for online shoppers, providing one last chance to bag massive bargains ahead of Christmas.
Despite online shopping being a normal part of Black Friday deals in this modern world, Cyber Monday still has its place in the retail calendar. It is often best for tech but does also include a huge range of products ranging from beauty, health, home and other products.
Brits are expected to spend an estimated £3.8 billion on Black Friday and Cyber Monday purchases in 2024. That figure comes from research conducted by finder.com.
What is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday first began back in 2005 and has now become one of the busiest internet shopping day of the year. This year, it falls on Monday, December 2.
Just like Black Friday not being restricted to one day a year, retailers sometimes start sharing offers as early as Saturday meaning you have a few days to decide before you buy. Taking advantage of the sales can lead to you bagging some big ticket items off your Christmas shopping lists without having the shell out as much cash.
