Ruben Amorim is set to oversee his first game as Manchester United boss against Ipswich this weekend but before that the Portuguese will speak to the assembled media for the first time

Ruben Amorim’s first Manchester United game is now just a matter of hours away.

The Portuguese coach completed a move from Sporting Lisbon earlier this month to become Erik ten Hag’s replacement. He has been in Manchester for the past week or so adapting to his new surroundings.

Amorim has already taken his first training session with a limited group of players, with the group growing in the following days as the Red Devils’ internationals flew back to the UK.

Another first that Amorim will have to complete this coming week is his first press conference in front of the assembled media. He will speak ahead of United’s Premier League clash against Ipswich at Portman Road on Sunday. Find out all of the details you need about Amorim’s first press conference below:

Where is Amorim’s first press conference?

The Portuguese’s first press conference will take place at the club’s Carrington Training Ground.

When is it?

It is scheduled for Friday, November 22 and will get underway at 2pm.

What will he talk about?

There will of course be a lot of attention surrounding his decision to move to Old Trafford. Amorim has already spoken out on that topic already.

Speaking in his first interview with club media, he said: “First of all, I think I felt a connection with the club. And when I say with the club, everybody knows Manchester United. But I feel the connection with the people in the club and that is very important for me because I want to work with people that I like and I feel a connection.

“The second point is the history of this club. All the people are hungry for success and I feel that this is the place that I want to be also because of that, because you can be part of something special, not just one more.

“And that is something that I really like. And of course, because of the fans, because in Portugal you listen a lot, a lot of stuff from the media. But when you see the games here, when you see the games, the interaction with the managers, with the players, even in difficult moments, I think it is a special club.”

Away from his decision to become United boss, Amorim will speak about his upcoming Premier League debut and how his stars have adapted to his ideas so far. Any future transfers could also be on the agenda.

Finally, Amorim will likely offer an update on the fitness of his players. Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia are all still out but there is some doubt on Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo.
