Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 absence has left fans of her morning show baffled, but she has now revealed exactly when she will return to the airwaves

Zoe Ball returned to the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning after weeks away.

The presenter described herself as a ‘happy wanderer’ as she told listeners it was ‘good to be back’. She also joked she’d not been to Turkey to have her ‘face and teeth done’ after co-workers commented on how well she was looking.

The morning show host, 53, was last on air on August 8, with fellow radio presenters such as Scott Mills and Gaby Roslin filling in for her. On the first show without her, Scott told listeners: “If you set your alarm every morning to go off at 6:30am and normally Zoe comes on, please do not freak out. You have not overslept. If you’ve just put us on this morning, it’s Scott Mills in for Zoe for the next few weeks. I’m sending you all my love Zo’, as are the team.”

No explanation or return date for Zoe was given leaving fans very confused. The presenter also retreated from social media, adding to the mystery surrounding her disappearance.

As the highest paid female presenter at the BBC and the highest paid presenter at Radio 2, fans were left asking a lot of questions as to Zoe’s retreat.

After keeping a low profile for over a month, Zoe was spotted last week with friends including ex-husband Norman Cook. Photos showed the star chatting and laughing with the group before walking along the beachfront.

She has also been spending more time with her 23-year-old son Woody. He recently admitted he shares a close bond with her and said he was glad she was smiling. Speaking to MailOnline about his bond with his mum last week, he said: “My mum and I like to keep our private lives to ourselves but I will say I have stepped up and spent a lot more time with her recently as she has always been there when I’ve had tough times. I’m glad to see her smiling.”

Over the weekend it was reported that Zoe has recently sold her £2million country pile and moved closer to her ex Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim. It is believed she moved to a townhouse between Brighton and Hove, near her DJ ex Norman – the father of her two children – from whom she separated in 2016 and divorced in 2020. Zoe is said to have sought out a “new start” after splitting from her partner Michael Reed last year after more than five years together.

Zoe had previously took a break from broadcasting earlier this year due to personal loss and health issues. She had grappled with the grief of her mother passing away in April after a cancer diagnosis and had also undergone emergency dental surgery.
