Solange Samantha Rizzetto, 28, went to take a shower after returning home from work – but tragically, she was found lifeless on the floor by her grandmother at 3am
A 28-year-old woman was found dead in her shower after a suspected electric shock possibly caused by a faulty heater.
Solange Samantha Rizzetto had just finished work and had returned to her home in Novellara, in the province of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, when she went to take a shower. However, at around 3am in the night between October 26 and October 27, her grandmother discovered her lying lifeless on the floor.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and launched an investigation, with reports claiming detectives are focusing on a small heater found near the shower. The woman’s body reportedly blocked the drain, causing minor flooding in the bathroom.

While it is believed she may have been electrocuted, prosecutors have ordered an autopsy to confirm the cause of death, and establish whether she may have suffered a sudden illness before he tragedy. Technical experts are inspecting the heater and the property’s entire electrical system to determine whether a fault occurred or if the installation was compliant with safety standards.
Her family said the heater was switched off at the time, raising the possibility of a short circuit or a sudden illness that led to her collapse. Her grandmother is also said to have suffered a mild electric shock while trying to turn off the running water.
The farmhouse, bought years earlier by Solange’s father, is being examined to verify whether it was fitted with a circuit breaker designed to cut power during electrical faults. Solange was born in Havana, Cuba, and moved to Italy at a young age.
She worked as a waitress at a restaurant run by her brother-in-law and had returned home after her shift before the tragedy occurred. Friends described her as cheerful, kind and always ready to help others. Speaking to local newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, Solange’s friends said: “She was a beautiful girl on the outside and on the inside. She was cheerful, full of life, kind to everyone.”
They added: “She was an extraordinary girl, very active, always ready to help others, positive, optimistic. We can’t believe she’s gone.” Her father Roberto, her mother, her brother Marsel, her sister Claudia and her grandmother, who discovered her body, are all mourning her loss.
Roberto described his late daughter as “a truly special girl” as he said: “She was our joy. This is a terrible moment for us.” He added his wife “is not well, she is very upset by what happened,” stressing: “We need to be close to her.”
The newspaper reported that Solange was very close to her grandmother and just days ago, she shared a loving message to mark her birthday. She said: “Happy birthday to the wisest, most unique, and best woman in the world: my first love, my best friend, the most important person in my life, and the one who made me who I am. Happy birthday, Grandma, you are and you will always be the best part of me.”
The investigation into Solange’s death continues.
