The video has gone viral, pulling in more than 48 million views so far with thousands of people keen to share their thoughts on her dramatic transformation. One person simply said: “Was not expecting that!”

A woman has left people completely floored after turning to the side in a video which showcases her dramatic body transformation.

It’s perfectly normal for our weight to fluctuate at different points, whether it be daily, weekly or monthly, depending on a variety of factors like water retention, menstrual cycle, or lifestyle changes and aggressors like stress.

As long as these fluctuations aren’t too drastic at either end of the scale, it’s a common occurrence for the majority of people. For some, a more dramatic weight change is desired.

Whether you want to lose weight for health or aesthetic reasons, or both, it can be a difficult process that requires dedication and a lot of hard work before seeing results.

Many turn to social media for motivation and seeing people who achieved what they want can make a world of difference. Content creator Ellie chose to share her weight loss journey on TikTok, and amassed a following of more than 200,000.

She and her partner both got gastric sleeves together and shared the dramatic changes the procedure has made to their bodies, lifestyle, confidence and overall happiness.

In one popular video, which has pulled in more than a staggering 48 million views, Ellie wanted to “remember just how far she’s come”.

The video begins with Ellie before her weight loss in 2023, standing in front of a mirror and then turning to the side to show her body. It then cuts to footage of Ellie in 2024, sporting a slinky black dress which hugs her newer, slender frame. The biggest difference in her videos, though, is definitely how much happier and full of joy she appears to be.

Thousands of people shared their thoughts in the comments section. One person said: “The biggest glow up I’ve ever seen,” while another agreed and penned: “BRO biggest glow up ever I was unsure if it was the same person.”

A third commented: “Was not expecting that! Way to go! Even if you did have surgery, it still takes maintaining with diet, exercise,” while someone else said: “The way my jaw dropped,” and another TikTok fan added: “Damn girl! What an accomplishment!”

Guidance on the NHS website states: “Weight loss surgery, sometimes called bariatric surgery, is a treatment for people who are severely obese. It makes the stomach smaller so it feels fuller sooner and less food is eaten.

“The main types of weight loss surgery are gastric bypass, gastric band, gastric balloon and sleeve gastrectomy. To be considered for NHS weight loss surgery you’ll usually need a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or more and have tried to lose weight through a healthy diet, exercise and medicine.”

People wishing to get the surgery also need to agree to lifestyle and diet changes, as well as regular check-ups after the operation.
