A woman has shared how her new pendant lampshade she’d bought for her bedroom had an unexpected similarity to a famous face with its distinctive detail – and people are in stitches

A woman was left both shocked and amused when she realised the new lampshade she’d bought for her bedroom was a spitting image of a well-known TV star.

Marks and Spencer is often a go-to place for shoppers to find anything from clothes, food and home decor. The department store often goes viral on social media platforms for it’s deals on luxurious products or indulging food items sold in it’s food market.

While revamping one’s décor can be an exciting endeavour, as people often see it as a way to express themselves and make their homes their own, the pieces we bring into our homes can sometimes pack surprising punches, whether we want them to or not.

TikTok user Laura, known under the alias ‘laurahallib’ on the app, who regularly posts slices of her life online, created quite the stir with a video showing off the uncanny resemblance between her new light fitting and Claudia Winkleman, host of Traitors and Strictly Come Dancing.

“Guys, I can’t breathe. I bought this lamp shade from Marks and Spencer’s, thought it looked fancy,” the AI-generated voice narrated Laura’s notes in the beginning of the clip that showed of the yellow fringed pendant light.

“Turned the light on for the first time…” Laura added before revealing her comical discovery as the lampshades’ fringe suddenly was seen on all the walls in the room. “Why does my room look like Claudia Winkleman???”

With her followers getting a glimpse of how the shadow from the lampshade’s fringe, they couldn’t help but draw parallels to Claudia’s iconic black hair and thick fringe look.

The item causing the hilarity is M&S’s Fringed Velvet Lamp Shade, retailing at £39.50 in various shades which sparked a wave of laughter online.

Amidst the fun, some followers couldn’t resist teasing with comments like “Gave the wall en emo fringe,” and others playing off Claudia’s name with cheeky puns such as, “‘Welcome to my Winkleroom'”.

One viewer quipped about the video, “Immersive Claudia Winkleman experience,” while another joked, “Did Claudia Winkleman film this TikTok? I feel like I’m seeing it from her perspective.”

A different person chimed in with a light-hearted comment: “It’s more of a lampshade than a lightshade lol,” prompting Laura to respond, “Which is annoying because it was advertised as a ceiling pendant and the instructions are of a pendant diagram too.”

But not all was lost, as someone offered a handy tip to solve Laura’s lighting issue. One person shared their own experience with the lampshade, saying, “I have this from M&S and it does not do that.”

Curious, Laura asked for further details, leading to the revelation that using a frosted bulb was the trick to prevent the fringe from decorating the bedroom walls.
