A woman named Yaz Moore documented all the food and products she managed to get for free from stores on her birthday, including goodies from Space NK, Marks & Spencer and Hotel Chocolat
A woman was shocked when she realised how much stuff she could get for free, including food and beauty products, on her birthday.
Makeup artist Yaz Moore documented her shopping trip in a TikTok video where she tried to find out what stores offer the best discounts and gifts for your birthday, and she was shocked to see how much she managed to get. The first place she went was to Krispy Kreme, where she got to pick one doughnut of her choosing.
“I’m quite excited, I don’t know which one to pick,” she said before opting for a cinnamon toffee apple doughnut. “How good is that, you just don’t get free things anymore.”
It’s worth noting that a lot of these shops will require you to be part of their loyalty scheme or be able to prove that it’s your birthday in order for you to receive a free gift.
She then moved on to Auntie Anne’s pretzels, to which she said she wasn’t sure what kind of reward to expect. The video then cut to her with a pretzel, saying: “I just picked myself up free pretzel. You can pick from the sweet, salted or cinnamon one. I can’t believe this was free. I’m honestly gonna be so full after all of this.”
She then walked over to Marks and Spencer, which she argued might have the best free gift of them all.
“You can claim a full size cake or cupcake for free on your birthday,” she said as she walked in. “Which I think is probably the best find so far.”
As she walked into the food section of M&S, she walked straight through to the cake aisle, where she showed the options she had to choose from. Shoppers get to pick from whatever flavour of nine pack cupcakes, which usually sell for £4, or any of the full sized cakes for the same price.
After having a hard time choosing what to get, she decided to go with the fruity mini selection of cupcakes. She then moved on to collect some beauty gifts, starting off in Rituals which offer a free body wash on your birthday.
“With the rituals one you do have to buy something [in order to collect the gift], so I’m gonna pick this up,” she said showing the product she’d picked. “The great thing about this as well, you can pick any of the body washes from any scent.”
As she went to pay, she showed the transaction to prove that she got the foaming shower gel, normally retailing for £9.90, completely for free.
“We’re now off to Hotel Chocolat and you can get a £5 off voucher for your birthday,” she said before going in to pick up Mocha latte coffee. “So yeah it’s not a free gift in Hotel Chocolat, but you do get £5 off and I needed to get these anyway, so that was good.”
She then went on to explain that you can get three mini products for free in Space NK so long as you’re part of their loyalty scheme ‘NK NDULGE’ and have made a purchase in the last 12 months, so that was the next stop she went to.
She was then off to Gail’s, where people can pick up a free drink or sweet treat on their birthday, before going to Greggs to pick up a free sweet treat as her final birthday gift. “Guys we found so many good things,” she said at the end of the video. “Everything just tastes nicer I think when it’s free.”
