A beauty influencer has shared her go-to hack for achieving tight and youthful skin – and it’s a natural and budget-friendly alternative to Botox. Here’s everything you need to know

A woman has shared her top trick for maintaining firm, young-looking skin without splurging on Botox — a thrifty and all-natural option.

In this day and age of endless new skincare crazes and products parading themselves across social media platforms, and people are on the hunt for that magical elixir that will drench their complexion in glow. Updates from influencers and star-studded beauty routines are constantly blasting through our online world, each claiming to deliver that elusive ‘glass skin’ look.

An offbeat skincare trend has recently come into the spotlight online as people are turning to a homespun remedy that employs banana peels, which is believed to help smooth out facial wrinkles.

A banana peel boasts lutein, a powerful compound known for sealing in moisture and keeping skin supple, bestowing that dewy, fresh-faced radiance.

Beauty influencer @byzareefa, who is well-known for her passion for skin health and wellness, caught the attention of the internet when a clip of her trying out this fruity method racked up a whopping 18 million views on TikTok. Zareefa credits her own mother for being an enthusiastic supporter of the practice—a tradition she now eagerly continues.

Sharing her beauty hack with her followers, Zareefa said: “You don’t need Botox. All you need is a banana peel. Inside, a banana peel contains gluten which is amazing for brightening the skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and also for fading hyperpigmentation.”

In a viral video, a woman demonstrates how she rubs a peel on her face as if it were a washcloth. Her skin appears radiant in the clip as she claims: “It’s brightening, hydrating and soothing. Just think of it as preventative Botox.”

She suggests doing this several times a week for noticeable results.

“You are going to see a huge difference in just the brightening, the hydration and the texture of your skin,” she promises. After working the peel into the skin, she advises leaving it for about 10 minutes before washing off with warm water.

Zareefa assures: “Do this consistently and I can promise you, you’re not going to need Botox.”

However, it’s worth noting that there’s no scientific evidence backing the effectiveness of this method, so those keen to try should be wary.
