Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn finally clash in the ring tonight when they touch gloves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, two-and-a-half years since they were first scheduled to fight
The time has finally come for Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn to step through the ropes, two-and-a-half years after they were first scheduled to touch gloves.
The sons of legends will put their family reputations on the line at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight in what is the third instalment of the Eubank-Benn rivalry. The fathers met first in 1990 and then again three years later with Chris Eubank Sr winning the first fight before the rematch was controversially scored a draw.
The sons were scheduled to clash in October 2022 but Benn failed two drug tests in the build-up and the fight was scrapped three days before the first bell. He has now been cleared to fight and insists he can upset the odds despite moving up in weight to face the far more experienced Eubank Jr. Here is everything you need to know about tonight’s fight…

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn – 10pm
After two-and-a-half years, Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn will finally get the chance to throw down in the ring. The British boxing stars were due to go head-to-head back in October 2022, but the bout was scrapped after Benn failed a drug test. He has since had his suspension lifted and is now cleared to fight in the UK. That said, he faces a tough ask as ‘The Destroyer’ will be moving up two weight classes for the middleweight showdown against a fighter who is a seasoned veteran in the world of boxing.
Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur – 9pm
Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur are set to meet for a third time in a bid to settle the rivalry once and for all. The pair first met back in 2020. In a thrilling back-and-forth encounter, it was Arthur who would score a razor thin split-decision victory. The two stars met again a year later, with Yarde going on to brutally knock out his rival in the fourth round in London. Four years on, both men will be eager to put on another impressive display on such a big stage.
Liam Smith vs Aaron McKenna – 8pm
Smith hasn’t fought since losing to Eubank Jr back in September 2023. He had been due to make his return against Josh Kelly last September, but was forced to pull out due to illness. The Liverpudlian is now seeking the opportunity to put things right as he takes on Aaron McKenna in a blockbuster dust-up in north London. As for McKenna, the top Irish middleweight contender will be hoping to put on a career-best display in the biggest fight of his life against Smith.
Viddal Riley vs Cheavon Clarke – 7pm
An avid Tottenham Hotspur fan, Viddal Riley will be looking to put on a scintillating performance at his beloved football team’s stadium. After a glittering amateur career, slowly but surely, Riley is starting to announce himself at world level. At 27, the Londoner is unbeaten in 12 fights, but faces a tough test in Cheavon Clarke. Coincidentally, north London bragging rights are up for grabs as Clarke is a die-hard Arsenal fan. The pair of cruiserweights meet for the British title and it promises to be a thriller.
Chris Billam-Smith vs Brandon Glanton – 6pm
Chris Billam-Smith is looking to get back to winning ways after suffering the second defeat of his career back in November when he lost to Gilberto Ramirez in a WBO and WBA cruiserweight unification bout. Billam-Smith is eager to get back into world title contention with a win over Brandon Glanton in north London. There is a rivalry building between the pair after Billam-Smith seemingly snubbed the American when they crossed paths ahead of Billam-Smith’s fight with Lawrence Okolie in Bournemouth in 2023.
Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn predictions
Ricky Hatton: “Chris will be boiling himself down a little bit. The last time he did boil himself down a little bit, he ended up stepping in with Liam Smith and got knocked out. That will help Conor. It’s really 50/50 to me but I, knowing Nigel like I do and Conor like I the self-belief that Conor has. He has that real self-belief and drive and will to succeed like his Dad did. I think that might give him the edge. So I’m gonna go with Conor.”
George Groves: “I’m working the broadcast so I don’t want to give a specific prediction, or I’ll be accused of bias further down the line! I think what you see is what you get with both fighters. We won’t see something we don’t expect. Benn will come out strong early on, trying to land something in the first few rounds. Eubank needs to survive that pressure and box his way through that situation. I think Eubank deserves to be favourite. When the fight was first made two years ago, I fancied Eubank, when it got remade, I thought, maybe Benn beats him? Now, I think Eubank. He’s got to be the favourite on what we’ve seen for this fight.”
Quotes corner
Chris Eubank Jr: “I know what’s coming. I’ve prepared my whole life for these moments. I’ve put the time in. I’ve dedicated decades to this sport. I’ve done it all without cheating, without cutting any corners, and I’m proud of that. The mentality I have, the experience I have, and the fortitude and the will is what I will be using on the night to take out my adversary, Conor Benn.”
Conor Benn: “This is what I do. I love this game. This is what I live for. This is every fighter’s dream when they turn professional – to live this life. There’s no more pressure than a 19-year-old kid with no amateur experience walking out to a packed O2 Arena. That’s pressure. I’ve been doing this for ten years, and I’m more than prepared and more than ready. There is no pressure. I live for this. I’ve had the fight over 100 times in my head. For me, it’s just focusing on my training. Removing myself from my comfort zone, my familiarity, my family, and fully dialing in. I’m not going to lower myself to Chris and go back and forth. All that PR is done. I’m excited to get in there and put my hands on him.”
