Tyler Kerry, 20, was on holiday in Turkey with his girlfriend and grandparents when he fell down a lift shaft and died – tributes have been left to the labourer following his death
A young Brit has died while on holiday in Turkey after he’s believed to have fallen down a lift shaft.
Tyler Kerry, 20, had been travelling in the country with his girlfriend and family members when he died. The labourer was found dead at a hotel in Antalya.
He is understood to have died at about 4am UK time. He died as he messaged family members about how much he had been enjoying his time abroad.
Alex Price, Tyler’s uncle, has paid tribute to him saying: “He was an energetic, exuberant young lad who was just settling into his life. He had a stable job, had just got himself a new car and was beginning to think about moving in with his girlfriend.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to raise money for the grieving family. As of Friday night, the campaign has raised £3,310 out of a £6,000 target.
Alex continued on the campaign page: “He was completely devoted to his family and girlfriend Molly. We are all absolutely devastated.
“We are asking for any donations towards the unforeseen costs of dealing with the consequences of such a tragic incident. Tyler’s Mum Rachael is currently at home looking after her two youngest boys and will be desperate to get out to Turkey and bring Tyler home.”
According to The Sun, Alex said Tyler’s family believes he must have woken up early and went on a walk or to get food. They believe that he pressed on the button for the lift and that he walked in without it being there.
