Yungblud has announced both a new album and a music festival, and revealed that a legend from The Who might be making an appearance in his upcoming work

Alt-rock star Yungblud – real name Dominic Richard Harrison – has hinted at a wild new venture, and The Who’s Roger Daltrey, 80, could be involved.

The 27-year-old South Yorkshire native who found fame through Disney has opened up about what to expect from his fourth album, which is already finished and ready to go. Yungblud’s last album came out in 2022, and topped the charts. This time around, however, he revealed that he’s trying something new.

“It’s a f***ing rock opera,” the artist told The Sun, adding, “It’s just been mixed. And what is so amazing is that Bludfest inspired so much of this album. I think looking out on 30,000 people last year, it really made me ready for another adventure.” Yungblud shared: “The crowd really gave me so much inspiration to finish this project that I’ve been making for four years, and really go for it more than I’ve ever done before.” By Bludfest, the singer was talking about his own music festival, which first took place this summer.

“What we created this year was unimaginable. You start an idea inside your head and you never believe it will come true but then it does all because of the f**king people and the fundamental idea that we all just wanna be together,” Yungblud shared after the event’s success.

“This wasn’t just a show, we built a f**king world. I truly want to thank all who came this year. You make each other shine, you emit such a light – a light that I believe is the answer to all the bulls**t is going on in the world. We did it and we’re gonna do it all over again. BLUDFEST year 2 is upon us, a little bit bigger and a little bit better … get ready!”

The Emmerdale actor is bringing Bludfest back this year, and has announced that it will take place at The National Bowl Milton Keynes on 21st June 2025. R&B trio Chase Atlantic have been announced as Yunblud’s main support, with Blackbear and rapper Denzel Curry also heading the lineup. For the first Bludfest, Yungblud responded to criticism that he was giving in to corporate whims by running the festival. The rapper revealed tickets were only £49.50, as he declared “f**k the corporate bull****.”

However, some social media users criticised the Doncaster artist over his true intent for the event. Yungblud decided to respond as he said: “Every now and then this narrative rears its head on the internet that kind of depicts that I’ve had everything given to me, I do nothing at all and I’m this completely massive industry plant who had everything given to him. That is crazy to me because that is not the case.”

Yungblud also addressed criticism over the “overall authenticity” of the event. Fans claimed that seeing as Bludfest was promoted by the global company AEG, he couldn’t be critical of corporations. In response, Yungblud said: “Fair enough, that is a fair point. But my promoter’s called Lee, he works at AEG, he’s just come over from America and I believe the way you f**k a corporate system is to change it. It’s to change it from the inside out. We can all sit in a pub and be like ‘F**k this, f**k that,’ but we don’t get anything done.”
