Zara McDermott has undergone a dramatic transformation in recent years after losing an impressive three stone but the former Love Island star revealed why she’ll never share her weight
Zara McDermott completely transformed her image before she started dating Louis Tomlinson. It emerged earlier this week that the former Love Island star had been secretly dating the One Direction heartthrob for a matter of weeks but had been attempting to keep their romance a secret.
This, however, changed when the pair were spotted enjoying a cosy dinner date at The Suffolk in Aldburgh, during which, an onlooker caught Zara and Louis lovingly enjoying their night and shared snaps of them together. Since finding fame on Love Island, Zara has been very open about her body and her transformation – including cosmetic surgery.
While Zara has always been incredibly attractive, the former Strictly Come Dancing star hss undergone a huge transformation and shared it with her followers on her Instagram profile. Back in 2020, Zara shared her three stone weight loss with fans by sharing a throwback snap taken just one year before.
“I can’t believe how far I’ve come,” she told fans at the time. Captioning her first picture: “Me in June 2019,” Zara was seen kicking back in a black bikini while offering a pout towards the camera. Another snap showed her in a bikini but with a slimmed down frame. She added: “The first pic of me was a girl who never exercised and at whatever she wanted… She wasn’t unhappy or insecure about weight…
“But she knew that she needed to start exercising, eating more fruits and veggies and making wiser choices in order to be healthier.” But when questioned about her weight, with one online user speculating that Zara was 7st 7lbs, she was quick to defend herself and reveal this wasn’t the case.
Defending herself and sharing why she will never share her weight, Zara responded: “Sorry to keep having to explain myself on here, but I am definitely not 7 stone 7lbs. I have learnt a lot about posting my exact before and after weight as it can be damaging, and that’s something I would never do now.
“Yes I have shared that I lost almost 3 stone (actually less than three stone) but no one is completely aware of my weight at my absolute heaviest and my current weight.” Zara continued: “It’s entirely unfair for people to make statements saying I weight a certain amount when they have never ever heard that from me. There is nothing wrong with me at a size 10 and me at a size 6. I love myself in both pics.
“I just want to be helpful and motivate other people who are on the same path as me to lead a healthier lifestyle. It was never about weight loss. And it’s not about weight loss.” Back in January 2021, Zara made the decision to have cosmetic surgery – a breast enhancement to make her breasts “fuller and more symmetrical.”
She said that she wanted to see more “fullness” to the upper part of her body and was “nervous” to share her journey online. A year later, she also revealed the results of aging on her profile, sharing a snap taken in 2018 and one from 2022. “OMG how crazy is it how much your face can change,” she said, before adding that she hadn’t had any surgery – but simply lost “baby fat” from her face. She was also open about having jaw filler from the age of 20 in order to balance her jaw and chin.
Nowadays, Zara gets botox every six months and filler every two years. “I always want to be open and transparent on here as this is a transparent space,” she said. Zara and Louis have been dating for a “couple” of weeks. A source told the Mirror that Louis has been “making her smile” and that the former Strictly Come Dancing star is “having fun like any single, twenty-something,” year-old. A pal said: “It’s been a low-key but fun two weeks.”
During their romantic night, Louis and Zara reportedly chose to eat £100 fish and chips while sipping on cocktails. Onlookers explained how they looked “every bit the happy couple.” Fans of Louis worked out earlier this month that he and Zara may be linked after a telltale sign on social media.
His fans, known as Louies, had spotted that he and Zara followed one another on Instagram. But this wasn’t all, it later emerged that Louis’ younger sisters, Lottie, Daisy and Phoebe all followed Zara – and she followed them back on the Meta platform.
