Adele was overcome with emotion as she brought her Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas to a close – and even addressed the controversy she caused when she originally cancelled the shows

Adele affectionately kissed her son, Angelo, as she brought her Las Vegas residency to a conclusion with an emotional outburst.

The 36-year-old Oscar-winning star entertained fans from all over the world as they jetted to Las Vegas to watch her in her Weekends With Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. And fans were screaming with joy and sadness as she took her final bow on Saturday night after 100 shows and two years in the venue.

Adele successfully turned opinion around – as many fans were left furious when she cancelled the residency when it had first been due to begin in January 2022. The singer threw a hissy fit over the staging of the show and cancelled her performances – when some fans were in mid-air heading to Sin City to watch her sing and after forking out huge sums of money for tickets, flights and hotels.

As she bowed out of her residency, Adele reportedly addressed the controversial start of her show – which was ultimately pushed back to November 2022. Describing the launch of the show as “rocky”, fans in the venue saw her hug and kiss her 12-year-old son – who she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki, 50.

According to the Daily Mail, Adele told her fans: “I am so sad that this residency is over and I am so glad That it happened I really really am.” Addressing the controversial beginning, she went on: “It got off to such a f****** rocky rocky way, it was one of the worst year’s of my life. I was being punched around, it was horrible and I was told it was career suicide and Vegas would never forgive me for [cancelling] so last minute.”

Fighting back tears, the Rolling In The Deep singer continued: “But we were talking as a team team earlier, That’s when I first started crying, had I done that show I cancelled, I certainly wouldn’t be standing her tonight doing my 100 show here… If something doesn’t feel right to you, in anything, don’t f****** do it it doesn’t matter what, and I am talking about gut instinct, if something doesn’t feel right don’t do it.”

And she added: “I am bursting with pride and I am so proud of myself and so proud of my team, the band, my fans I’m so thankful to Vegas for giving me that second chance.” According to the NME, the singer said, “I will miss it terribly. I will miss you terribly. I don’t know when I’m going to perform again. I’m not doing anything else.” Sounding terrified of having nothing to do, she then explained: “I’m actually s**tting myself about what I’m actually going to do. I don’t have any f**king plans.”
