People who struggle to sleep, and can’t stand eight-legged home invaders, are sure to benefit from Aldi’s new £2 product

Aldi is set to release a new £2 item as part of its latest SpecialBuy range which has two handy functions. Not only will the item help you fall asleep quicker, but it can also be used as a spider repellent as the weather turns colder.

The sight of a spider crawling across your floor or wall this winter will have arachnophobes frozen with fear. The cooler conditions have meant many eight-legged creatures have rushed indoors to stay warm and find a mate.

Whilst they’re not the nicest to look at, they’re just acting on instinct, so don’t mean any harm. But that doesn’t mean you have to put up with the surprise invaders who think your home is now theirs as well.

Instead, you can turn your home into their worst nightmare – and a new range from Aldi just so happens to fit the bill. The store’s new Lacura sleep range is already on shelves to pick up.

The products, which start from as little as £2, contain a mix of ingredients that will make spiders think your home stinks – including lavender. Luckily, humans have a different idea of a foul stench than spiders.

Aldi’s range uses calming scents on lavender and eucalyptus in the form of a candle, reed diffuser, pillow spray and oil. It’s been reported for years that these creepy crawlies hate those strong smells so people with a fear of spiders will get a double benefit from these products – and are likely to sleep twice as well knowing their home is spider-proof as well.

The full range includes:

Spiders hate various powerful smells – including citrus, peppermint, cinnamon and rose – because of their enhanced senses. Spiders smell through sensory organs on their legs as they don’t have noses. If you set up a barrier using these scents around common spider entry points, you can send the creatures scurrying elsewhere.

You can view the full range of what’s coming to Aldi’s middle aisle online here. Alternatively, you can pick up a leaflet in store that gives you the same preview of items that will be landing in shops over the coming weeks.

The items rotate every Thursday and Sunday, with selections only available whilst stocks last. if you’re wanting to pick something up, it’s best to act fast.
