Alesha Dixon and her partner of 18 years, Azuka Ononye, shocked fans when they split up

Musician and TV star Alesha Dixon and her partner of 18 years, Azuka Ononye, are reportedly still living together ‘for the sake of the kids’ after their shock split. The couple were together for almost two decades, with the duo welcomed children, Azura and Anaya, before going their separate ways last year.

And now, it has been reported that the Britain’s Got Talent judge and her ex-partner are still living under the same roof as they navigate their lives after the split. A source claimed of their almost two-decade long romance: “Alesha confirmed she’s split from Azuka and is navigating that as best she can.

“They are still living together for the sake of their family and are co-parenting.” According to the insider’s claim to The Sun, Alesha jetted off to Jamaica for a well-deserved break from her busy life and was joined by friends.

She previously admitted she played “hard to get for about a year” while Azuka was wooing her after they met in 2006, and Alesha finally gave in before reportedly secretly marrying her man in 2017 and welcomed children, Azura and Anaya.

However, sadly, the pair called time on their relationship last year, with pals of the couple saying they were ‘more like friends’.

Back in 2017, Alesha – who was previously married to So Solid Crew’s MC Harvey – introduced Azuka as her “lovely husband” during an appearance on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show Christmas Special. However, neither confirmed if a wedding took place.

The duo first met in 2006 after Alesha’s one year-long marriage to Harvey, which ended after he cheated on her. At the time, Azuka was working as a Mis-Teeq backup dancer before being hired as the star’s creative director.

Admitting on the Jonathan Ross Show in 2018, she initially played “hard to get”, Alesha lifted the lid on when she fell for Azuka – quite literally – after recovering from a foot operation.

She said: “He was sleeping on the floor because I was on the couch, I couldn’t even get up the stairs. If he can carry me to the toilet then he’s a keeper.

“I had the foot operation and I couldn’t walk and he was literally sleeping on the floor looking after me every day. I was just looking at him thinking: ‘That is for better or for worse isn’t it?’ I looked a state.”

During an appearance on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum podcast in 2020, Alesha talked about her family and said: “[Azuka] was the first person that I’d met, that I knew that we could have children together because of our values, our morals, our thinking aligned.”
