This Morning host Alison Hammond looked the picture of happiness as she posed for pictures alongside her boyfriend David Putman and her son Aiden as they attended a glitzy event

Alison Hammond’s relationship with David Putman has been plagued by rumours of a split over recent months.

But now, the TV host, 49, firmly laid those speculations to rest as she was spotted looking loved-up with her boyfriend David Putman, who is 20 years her junior. The TV personality attended The Candy Kittens Candy Day Summer Bash in London with David and her look-alike son Aiden. Alison also looked slimmer than ever as she donned a floral v-neck dress teamed with a quilted black leather bag which she hung across her shoulder.

Meanwhile, her son Aiden also wore a printed shirt with a pair of beige trousers. And David opted for an all black ensemble and completed his look with a green shirt. Alison had previously teased fans about her budding romance but it wasn’t until she appeared on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s podcast Parenting Hell, she confirmed her romance.

When asked if she was single, she said: “No… I’m not single.. I’m dating. I’m dating!” But it seems that dating as single mum of a teenager isn’t without it’s problems. Speaking about the moment Aiden and David met, she said: “When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice. Thank goodness for that! Because normally Aiden hates anybody I date, literally just not interested. And you just know at that point, if Aiden doesn’t like them, this isn’t gonna work.”

Alison and Aiden are known for having a close bond as they enjoyed a night out at DJ Fat Tony’s engagement party at the Londoner Hotel, in May. Aiden is keen to enter into the DJ world and is due to make his musical debut at Camp Bestival in Dorset this summer. Earlier this month, Alison hinted that she had split with her new man due to a cryptic message made by the star, during an Instagram Q&A.

Undeterred by the age difference, the couple appeared to be going from strength to strength earlier this year. But it had been noticed that they had been spending more and more time apart from each other. And last month, their seemingly strained relationship became more apparent as he celebrated his birthday in Lake Como, Italy, without the TV presenter.

Trying to get to the bottom of things without being too intrusive, fans asked Alison in a social media Q&A, a number of questions, but the star remained tight-lipped. One person asked her if she was happy and she shyly replied: “Happiness comes from within.” According to those close to the star, she had been happy with David but his parents were concerned for their son due to the age gap and her high-profile career.

One friend who is close to David’s mum Olga, said: “She thinks Alison is way too old for David and doesn’t like all the attention her TV fame has brought to her son. She’s uncomfortable that her son is with someone who has so much more financial power than him. Olga’s traditional values don’t sit well with their relationship. She’s told him in no uncertain terms that he must end it.” And the TV personality was devastated.

A source told Heat magazine: “Alison was absolutely devastated when she heard what Olga said – she thought it was totally unnecessary and didn’t expect it at all. She has really fallen for the guy, and everyone is worried.” They added: “t’s not just the age difference no one knows him, and people are concerned, especially now his mum has weighed in. This was why Alison was trying to keep it so quiet. She knew what the reaction would be.”
