The discounted electric blanket has three heat settings and is available in four sizes; single, double, king and super king
Electric blankets are an essential gadget in freezing cold temperatures to ensure a great night’s sleep by keeping you toasty warm in bed. Amazon is currently offering a best-selling electric blanket on sale and shoppers are full of praise for it, as not only does it keep them cosy in bed, it’s also cheap to run.
The online retailer is now offering three of the four Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket sizes for a discounted price. It’s available in single (£20, RRP £30), double (£26.99), king (£32.99, RRP £42.99) and super king (£38.99, RRP £55).
The gadget is made from a ‘super snuggly fleece material’ and has three heat settings, allowing you to find the ideal temperature. Silentnight says the blanket costs ‘from just 1p’ to heat your bed, helping you keep warm for less.

The electric blanket is machine washable and features overheating protection for peace of mind, which is particularly useful if you plan on having it on all night while you sleep. Its easy fit straps provide a secure fit on your mattress ensuring it stays in place.
Over 43,700 Amazon customers have reviewed the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket to date, with the gadget earning an overall rating of 4.4 out of five. One delighted buyer wrote: “So warm and cosy, plenty of cable if your plug socket isn’t close [to the bed]. Slips on the mattress easily with stretchy elastic straps. Super warm on the high setting, you only need it on for a few minutes to warm your bed thoroughly.”
A second commented: “It’s the best thing I have bought all winter. You can feel it warming up within about three minutes of turning it on. It comes with straps that go all the way under the mattress which is great, as it doesn’t slip off through the night. The controller is easy to use – you slide the dial to each setting and it clicks into place, so it can’t be accidentally knocked onto a different setting, providing peace of mind. We only have it on for about 15 minutes a night to warm up the bed before we get in.”
Another shopper wished the blanket ‘was a bit longer’, however they still rated it five stars and said: “Heats well and evenly, is very comfy to lie on (zero wires can be felt) and does the job perfectly. You have to curl your legs up to warm your feet but other than that it’s a good, low wattage blanket… If you’re concerned about the running costs, this is one of the cheaper ones. It shouldn’t cost much more than 10p to run all night.”
As well as keeping you warm, electric blankets can help relieve pain. One Amazon customer explained: “Absolutely amazing… The added mattress elastic keeps it more secure to the bed and it fits perfectly. The level of heat is just right to get the bed cosy ready to get in and the control is so easy to use to turn it up or down. It’s lightweight and you can’t feel the heat elements underneath you like you could with the old ones back in the day.
“I think this is an amazing bargain for Silentnight. As someone with hypermobility syndrome in the lower back and hips, it’s the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. No tossing and turning in the night due to pain and I get up in the morning fresh as a daisy with no aches and pains. If you haven’t got one or can’t decide whether to get one, it’s the best thing I ever did.”
Sadly not everyone is impressed with the blanket, as one shopper noted: “Purchased for a spare room and regretted it the moment I put it on the bed. Bought the king size version, but it doesn’t reach the edges of the king sized bed.”
Someone else wasn’t completely satisfied, as they explained: “The blanket heats up nicely, however the control slider button started to become difficult to slide after a couple of weeks.”
