A YouTuber from the US has spent the last three years travelling to England and Scotland and has shared the four things that have left the biggest impression on him

An American traveller who has holidayed in the UK for three consecutive years says four things stood out to him during his time overseas.JPS, the YouTube sensation known as ItsJps, shared his fondness for the UK in a series of videos, waxed lyrical about the food, one seaside town, festivals and even our sense of humour.

Speaking first about the UK food scene, particularly Sunday roasts and ciders, he believed it outshone their American counterparts. The vlogger then lavished admiration on Scarborough, a coastal town in North East England, expressing his surprise at the enjoyable swimming conditions and the quality of the beach.

He said: “The seaside towns in Britain are just, there’s something really special about them. You can’t quite compare them to anything. Seaside towns in England, it’s special bro. I honestly thought the water was going to be so much colder than what it was, it was definitely swimmable.

“The beach was really nice in Scarborough I have to say. I had this really bad perception of British beaches, I thought they were all pebbly and rocky and it’s just not the case. Scarborough was beautiful sand and the water was as clear as it could be. I mean I really did not have too many complaints when it came to that visit.”

The presenter couldn’t help but gush over the UK’s natural beauty, particularly praising the Peak District and Scotland. He expressed sympathy for tourists who limit their visit to London, saying: “As well as thinking about the UK’s bevvy of seaside towns, the presenter was also full of praise for the country’s natural beauty with special time reserved for the Peak District and Scotland.”

The presenter, who said he felt sorry for tourists who stuck to London said: “I visited the Peak District for the first time this year and oh my I was blown away. The landscapes, the hills…they’re enormous and beautiful.

“The Peak District really blew me away and when you throw that on top of all the other amazing natural beauty that’s throughout England. Scotland you can go up there and literally think you’re in the Lord of the Rings movie, it’s that amazing.

“There is just so much natural beauty, there’s so much to explore and I really feel bad for people who visit England for example and they only stay in London.”

The YouTuber also raved about British music festivals, recounting: “I actually went to two different music festivals. The festivals are great. I really enjoyed them they were good vibes, great weather for both of them.”

He continued, “Wow, you guys have a lot of festivals, there are a lot of different options. I really wanted to go to the Isle of Wight festival.”

Wrapping up his praise, he touched on the British sense of humour, which he found essential given the often “cloudy” skies, reflecting: “Man you guys have a wicked sense of humour and it’s necessary to be in such a cloudy and downcast environment for so much of the year and I’m not saying it’s cloudy every day.”

“The humour is just so good and I thought that I was able to relate to everyone so well on this trip. When someone’s poking fun of you they like you, it’s really that simple.”
