Dealing with blemishes and acne is difficult and there’s countless products on the market promising quick fixes, but finding what works for your specific skin type is key – plus one ingenious product

A beauty expert has shared her “skincare hack of the year” for its dramatic impact on “curing” acne scars and pigmentation.

Dealing with spots, blemishes and acne can be difficult, disheartening and laborious. There’s countless products on the market, all promising solutions and quick fixes, but finding what works for your specific skin type is the key – though it can be a lengthy process.

Popular content creator Bambi Does Beauty has amassed a loyal following of hundreds of thousands across TikTok and Instagram, keen for her tips and advice on skincare and beauty products.

The 34-year-old is known for her honesty and commitment to finding effective solutions on the high street and beyond, and regularly offers her insight on tried and tested methods. In one recent TikTok video, which has already amassed more than two million views, the beauty guru was keen to praise silicone scar sheets.

These sheets are garnering attention from skincare enthusiasts, due to the impact they can have on unwanted marks and scars left behind by spots and acne. They’re medical-grade, self adhesive used to treat and prevent scars.

They work by helping the body to maintain moisture and regulate collagen production throughout the healing process which can, in turn, help to improve the appearance of scars – including the colour, height and texture of them. The sheets are also said to relieve itching and discomfort, which could provide further healing aid as it stops people picking at and potentially exacerbating wounds.

In Bambi’s popular video, she filmed herself cutting up a sheet to suit the size of a spot and then placed it on her face. Over the top of the footage, she penned: “To the girl who told us to apply silicone scar sheet to acne pigmentation, I owe you.” The beauty aficionado simply captioned the clip: “Skincare hack of the year”.

People rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts. One person said: “My chin area is plastered with them right now because I saw it on TikTok a few minutes ago!!! [Crying laughing emoji] praying it works!!”

Another person asked: “Wait, I’ve seen some say reusable. Is it actually?” To which, another social media user replied: “They say that but after I use mine it’s all crumply and of course there’s our skin oils – why anyone wants to reuse theirs is beyond me”.

Someone else asked: “Where’s best to get these from?” Bambi replied: “I got mine from amazon! This is the brand elaimei, silicone scar sheets”.

Another person quipped: “My whole face would be plastered unfortunately”, while another shared: “Does this actually work? Does it get rid of it because I have lots of acne pigmentation?” Someone else replied: “Yes! I use it while I’m sleeping/at home and it works amazingly for me.”
