Amazon has slashed the price of its Kindles but a new model is arriving in stores soon.
If you are in need of a new Kindle then now is a very good time to go online shopping. Amazon has just launched its big Black Friday sale event and its famous e-readers have received some hefty discounts. Even the new entry-level Kindle and more impressive Kindle Paperwhite have been slashed in price despite only launching last month.
The deals mean you can get the latest Kindle – which features a new green colour and faster page turns – for just £79.99 (was £94.99). The Paperwhite – which is now faster and gets a 7-inch glare-free screen – is just £134.99 in the Black Friday sale (was £169.99).

These are great discounts, but another deal that might catch your eye is a massive saving on the ultimate Kindle Scribe, which is reduced to just £214.99 – that’s a saving of over £100.
This flagship e-reader gets a huge 10.2-inch screen, quicker page turns and the ability to scribble and write notes on display using the bundled digital pen stylus.
It’s one of the most feature-packed Kindles you can buy and that new Black Friday price makes it appear even more enticing.

However, before you race to tap the ‘buy’ button, there is one big thing to be aware of. During Amazon’s recent Kindle launch event in New York the online retailer also announced the launch of an all-new Scribe.
This latest and greatest device, which will be available to buy from next month, features a new design with a flush display and an upgraded Premium Pen that feels more like writing on real paper.
This device also allows users to write notes directly on the book page plus there is another update called Active Canvas which will automatically create space for your notes as you write.
When it hits stores in December it will start from £379.99 which is way more expensive than the current deal on the older Scribe.
However, if you want the ultimate Kindle and don’t mind how much it costs you might be best waiting a few more days for this update to become available. Amazon has confirmed that it starts shipping from December 4.
