Jonathan Antoine, who shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent in 2012, has lost a whopping five stone in the past 12 years and is now virtually unrecognisable from his former self

Britain’s Got Talent star Jonathan Antoine is barely recognisable over a decade after he wowed the judges with his stunning performance. At just 17, Jonathan and his singing partner Charlotte Jaconelli enchanted audiences on the 2012 show, ultimately finishing in second place to Ashleigh and Pudsey, reports OK!.

Post-BGT, the duo landed a whopping £1m record deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco label, but their journey ended two years later. Fast forward twelve years, and Jonathan still resides in Hainault, London with his family. Unfortunately, he and Charlotte have lost touch, although he once hinted at a reunion in another ’20 years’ time’. Amidst various career turns and personal issues, the most noticeable change is Jonathan’s physical transformation.

He has shed a significant amount of weight thanks to lifestyle and dietary changes. Despite admitting to previous lack of discipline, he now says: “I’ve still got a lot to lose but I’m making my way. I feel stronger and healthier than I have in 10 years, which is a lot. This year I’ve made an active choice. I’ve felt I’ve lacked the discipline a lot. When I was out in America its fast food everywhere. I was in a terrible state in the start of the year and I’ve been able to claw my way back doing light exercise.”

Jonathan, who has been avoiding heavy exercise due to his size, shared: “I’m a very big fella so heavy exercise would just tear me up. I’m working my way up, thinking about what I eat because that is important.”

He’s committed to walking an impressive 10,000 steps daily, even if it means pacing in his room, and he’s feeling more alive than ever. He added: “For a long time I was just experiencing life, letting life live me, trying to find the next pleasure. Taking control of your own life, grabbing the world with your hands, feels amazing.”

Post-BGT fame, Jonathan soared to the top of the Classical Artist Album chart with his debut solo album Tenore and has collaborated with renowned figures like Mexico’s operatic tenor Rolando Villazon and Leone Magiera, the Italian pianist who worked with Pavarotti.
