Branden Grace was one of four players, including Scott Vincent, to be cut from the LIV Golf roster for the 2025 season, with the South African now competing on the Asian Tour

Branden Grace, a former LIV Golf player, has candidly expressed that he’s the one to blame for his relegation from the league for the 2025 season.

His performance took a nosedive this past year, leading to his name being on the list of players cut from the roster, alongside Scott Vincent, Kieran Vincent, and Kalle Samooja. Now relegated, Grace, along with the others, must prove their mettle in other competitions, aiming for a comeback to the LIV Golf tour in future seasons.

They’ve all joined the Asian tour, where Grace has already shown promise with a third-round score of 65 in Thailand. The former PGA Tour star knows he needs to keep racking up impressive scores to return to LIV Golf.

After being related, Grace said: “I have to do what I have to do. Depending on what happens, I make my decision from there. I put myself in this position, so there is nothing I can really do about it other than practice and get ready for these events. I need to go win, win, win, and there you go. It takes care of things. But I just have to do what I have to do.

“I am going to go to where I feel that I have the best chances of competing and winning golf tournaments. This is what it is all about – giving the guys opportunity. Like I have said before, this is a great stepping stone. It is great.”

Grace has clinched several titles, including scoring two wins on the PGA Tour where he triumphed at the sought-after RBC Heritage event back in 2016. Apart from these, he boasts nine European Tour victories such as bagging the 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Although Graced seized victory at Portland’s LIV tournament in 2022, his form has since been patchy.

Vincent, who is treading a similar path on tour and wishes to return while also eyeing the Asian circuit, expressed his sentiments, saying: “As I am reflecting, I know I must take those things that I learned forward – this is a journey.

“I had an amazing experience playing on LIV Golf, what a dream to play against the best players in the world on the biggest stages across the world.

“I have got so much to be thankful for. But what can I learn and what can I use to move forward, progress and continue from here? Because on The International Series I still get to play golf at the highest level as a professional, and very few people do that. I need to be grateful for that.”
