A 65-year-old woman has sadly died in Hersonissos, Crete, after she fell to her death at a hotel. She was rushed to a hospital in serious condition but later died

A British tourist has plunged to her death at a hotel in Greece.

The woman, aged 65, was on holiday with her husband when the tragedy took place in Crete. Emergency services rushed to their hotel in Hersonissos and took her to Venizelio hospital.

She was in critical condition and was placed in an intensive care unit. She tragically passed away on Wednesday, according to local reports.

It comes shortly after a British man died in Kalavryta, Greece, while attempting to take a photograph. It was reported that he was stood on cliffs whilst taking images of fighter jets on October 11.

Reports suggest that he collapsed at the scene. The man, who has not been named, was found in the Vouraikos gorge after his pals alerted medics at around 8.30am.

Sadly, his friends made unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate him, and emergency services then faced a difficult task to rescue him from the 12-mile-long gorge, which is by the River Vouraikos and part of the Chelmos-Vouraikos National Park.

According to reports, the tourist was unconscious by the time they arrived, and later passed away in hospital.
