WARNING – GRAPHIC CONTENT: Following complaints from neighbours about a foul smell, a director of the school decided to inspect the premises on January 4 and found the body

The remains of a burglar’s rotting corpse were discovered trapped in a window at a nursery school after he got stuck while making his escape.

Following complaints from neighbours about a foul smell, a director of the school decided to inspect the premises on January 4 and found the nursery ransacked. Moments later, she was horrified to find the man’s body trapped on one side of a tilt window.

The authorities in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, were called in to investigate and remove the body. Preliminary investigations suggest the man broke a window to gain entry to the nursery school to steal.

It’s believed he slipped while using a chair to climb out during his escape. The authorities believe the man bled to death after cutting himself on the broken glass.

Because the school was closed over the festive period, his body went unnoticed for several days. By the time it was found, it was in an advanced state of decomposition. Forensic experts are now trying to work out the exact date of death. They are also working to identify the deceased.

It comes after a martial arts expert told of how he “grabbed” and “immobilised” an alleged burglar who had run into a neighbour’s home. Brian, 36, a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, said how his “adrenaline was pumping” as he dashed into the home in Sydney, Australia, after a woman had come round calling for help.

After wrestling with the 37-year-old man, he was then reportedly able to restrain him until police arrived at the incident which took place in the Canada Bay area of the city shortly before 7.30pm on Monday.

Brian heard “banging and screaming” while in his own home and so he went to his front door to investigate what was going on. At that point a woman who was a neighbour came rushing up and said that somebody had broken into her home. “She basically said she needed help, and some man had broken into her house, and I kind of just put pants on and ran outside,” he said.

Brian went around to the neighbour’s house but couldn’t see any intruder at first, although he saw a broken fence and a damaged door which appeared to be where he had entered. It was claimed that the alleged burglar was carrying a piece of wood with nails in it, and when he saw Brian he ran into a room where he was wrestled to the ground.
