One of Cadbury’s most popular Christmas treats has made a supermarket comeback right before Halloween

It seems Christmas has come early for chocolate fans this year. One incredibly festive Cadbury product has now hit shelves across the UK, and it has sent people into an frenzy.

The confectionary giant boasts that this particular special treat – priced at £1.65 in Sainsbury’s – is the ‘no.1 best selling Christmas novelty bag’ in the country. Taking to Instagram, they announced: “PSA: Cadbury Snowballs have hit the shelves! Is it too soon, or are we just getting a head start on the Christmas magic?”

The chocolatier’s delicious Snowballs are milk chocolate spheres wrapped in sugar. Although Christmas Day is exactly 68 days away, many commenters were quick to say that’s it’s never too soon to embrace the festive spirit.

One person confessed: “May have already had some this weekend,” as someone else quipped: “It’s never to soon for these!!”

A third also chimed in: “Yay! My favourite! Even better than Mini Eggs.” However, other users didn’t look as fondly upon the early Christmas launch, with one person bluntly quipping: “It’s. October.”

Another added: “What has happened to Festive Friends? I’m really am disappointed this year as I love them!” In response to this, Cadbury confirmed that Festive Friends – its animal-shaped chocolate biscuits – are being replaced this Christmas.

They added: “We carefully consider any changes we make to our Christmas line up, and we are sure that you will enjoy this seasonal version of the much-loved Cadbury Animals Biscuits.” If you’re keen to get your hands on Cadbury Snowballs, you can also head to Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and a number of other shops.

Animal Friends are available at a number of these stores too.
