New mum Michelle Keegan proves she’s keeping up with trends in this spring/summer’s must-have jacket choice
Michelle Keegan may be busy taking care of her newborn daughter Palma but she’s still finding the time to serve us all the fashion inspiration we’ve come to rely on her for. Having launched her latest spring/summer edit with Very just the other week, the 37 year old has been taking to Instagram to highlight some of her favourite pieces from the range.
Her most recent look spotlights a jacket that fashion experts are calling the ‘it’ layering piece for this season: a lightweight suede coat. Even better, it’s an affordable pick at £60. From her Michelle Keegan for Very range, the Suede Blonde Jacket in Light Beige is still available in all sizes – 6 through to 20 – however, the stock isn’t set to last long. We know this because when she posted a snap of her cardigan on Mother’s Day weekend, it sold out almost within the hour in just about every size.

If you’ve been looking for a new jacket for this season, Michelle’s faux suede piece is the perfect way to nail the suede trend. Soft, stylish and easily layerable, it’s got a vintage-meets-modern style that all the top fashion girls are loving right now. The light beige shade makes it super easy to style—whether you’re going for a laid-back, everyday look or dressing up for a night out. The structured collar, button-up front and belted cuffs give it a luxe feel, while the relaxed fit means it doesn’t look overly dressy.

As we say, suede is going to be one of the biggest trends of 2025. Already cropping up in the form of jackets, ballet flats, handbags, and more, you can’t head into a shop without seeing suede pieces everywhere. This trend largely took off last autumn during the boho chic resurgence when it complemented the ‘cowgirl core’ trend perfectly, but this year, we’re really seeing it stand out on its own.

Topshop’s faux suede bomber jacket in brown, £80, boasts a similar shape, slouchiness and colour to Jaeger’s one. The main difference is, of course, that it’s made from faux suede rather than real leather. This can have its benefits, as Topshop’s version is half the price, at £80, and does not look as fake as other cheaper, faux suede pieces.
