Geordie Shore star Ricci Guaranccio has taken to his Instagram Stories to urge fans to ask for help if they need it after announcing the tragic death of a school friend
Geordie Shore star Ricci Guaranccio has begged fans to reach out after announcing that a friend had died by suicide. The TV personality took to his Instagram Stories to make the heartbreaking announcement this week, writing a short statement over a black page.
He wrote to his 247,000 Instagram followers: “Just lost another very good friend from school to suicide this morning!” He then urged them to ask for help. “If anyone is EVER going through anything please reach out to someone there’s ALWAYS another way,” he said. Ricci also shared a link to a fundraising page to help out his school friend’s family.
Ricci previously opened up about the death of another friend during a recent series of MTV’s Geordie Shore. He said he was upset when his on-off fling, Chantelle Connelly, failed to reach out to him during the difficult time.
The news of his school friend’s death comes several weeks after he was rushed to the hospital. The 38-year-old posted an update on his Instagram Stories from the emergency department, revealing he is experiencing severe back pain.
In his post, he wrote: “Backs completely gone! AGONY.” Later, he posted a selfie, seemingly from the hospital waiting area, wearing a beige hoodie and a white baseball cap.
Just last week, Ricci took to Instagram to announce that he would be hosting a live DJ set and meet-and-greet in Albufeira.
He took to his Instagram with a snap of the event poster alongside the caption: “ALBUFEIRA, ARE YOU READY TO RAVE & MISBEHAVE?! I’ll be bringing the vibes with a LIVE DJ SET at @templebaralbufeira on May 30th from midnight!” He added: “Let’s turn up the heat and make it a night to remember! Tag your crew & see you on the dancefloor!”
Ricci is a TV personality who is best known for his appearance on the iconic Geordie Shore. The star joined the show in its second series and became well-known for his personality, relationships, and dramatic moments on the show.
Aside from his TV career, Ricci has also worked as a DJ and has been involved in various media and entertainment activities.
At the end of 2023, Ricci sparked concern that the reality series could be ending, after admitting that there’s “probably not that many series left”. In a now-deleted video, former cast member Ricci revealed he doesn’t think the series has long left after 13 years on MTV.
The wild reality show which features boozy nights out and casual flings has been airing since 2011, but Ricci has revealed he thinks it could soon be the end after 24 seasons of the programme.
