Business savvy Coleen Rooney could soon be earning even more than her husband despite the vast wealth from his football success after she signed a lucrative deal

Coleen Rooney’s rumoured £1.5million I’m a Celebrity fee will be small change compared to a mega pay day coming her way.

Insiders say she could easily eclipse her husband’s Wayne’s estimated £80million lifetime earnings after she invested heavily in a company now floated on the Stock Exchange for £350million.

Coleen, 38, bought as many shares as she could in Liverpool-based sports health firm Applied Nutrition after becoming an ambassador for the brand. She has also signed up to launch her own range of proteins, collagen, and vitamin supplements for Applied Nutrition in January.

Before flying to Australia, she was “thrilled” to learn that her range would be stocked by Holland & Barrett, with more supermarkets to follow. A source close to Coleen said: “With the company now valued at a staggering £350million, Coleen stands to do incredibly well from this investment.

“What makes this even more impressive is that Coleen didn’t jump in blindly – she started out as an ambassador for the brand, did her research and quickly recognised the massive potential for global growth. Coleen saw this as not just an endorsement opportunity but as a solid, worthwhile investment that will benefit her entire family. She was literally the first person to invest.”

This evening, viewers will watch Coleen and her fellow celebrities in the first episode of the hit ITV series. Her appearance will super-charge the launch of her range in January. The source said: “She did a whole load of work in preparation for this. She’s recorded a TV advert around her Applied Nutrition range and this will hit TV screens shortly after her stint in the jungle.

“It is all perfectly well timed for maximum impact. Her PR team is working flat out preparing for life after the jungle and her new wellbeing products are central to all plans. There’s already a buzz surrounding the collection, and a celebrity launch event is planned for the New Year in London. Celebrity pals like Fearne Cotton, Mel B and Abbey Clancy are lined up to attend.”

Wayne, 39, is said to be delighted by Coleen’s entrepreneurial drive. He earned around £15million a year at his peak playing for Man United, and is thought to now earn around £500,000 a year managing Plymouth Argyle. Coleen has surpassed him with a string of savvy deals, including £2million for the Disney documentary, Coleen Rooney : The Real Wagatha Story, and £3million for a George campaign.

But Applied Nutrition could prove the most lucrative deal yet. The source said: “It is going to be massive for her. Coleen was definitely in the right place at the right time when it came to this money-spinning partnership, which is worth millions.”
