Wayne Rooney parted ways with Plymouth Argyle recently after having been its manager for seven months and his wife Coleen Rooney has been posting on social media since then

Reality TV star Coleen Rooney has given fans a glimpse into her family’s schedule amid reports that Wayne Rooney will be a “house husband” after departing from his coaching job.

It was announced earlier this week that football manager Wayne, 39, has been let go by Plymouth Argyle following a series of defeats in matches. The club shared that they have “mutually agreed to part ways with immediate effect”.

Following the news, it’s been reported that the football club has no plans to revive a documentary about the season. Filming is said to have ended shortly before his departure as a result of the downturn in results and there are no plans to resume it with his successor, according to the Guardian.

There has also been speculation that Wayne’s wife Coleen, 38, will have been “devastated” by his exit just seven months after he was appointed head coach in May last year. She had previously expressed concern over the role.

Coleen spoke about Wayne’s managerial career on I’m A Celebrity in November. Asked about his job, she said: “He does enjoy it. It’s hard work like. I find it more nerve-wracking him being a manager than I did [when he was a footballer]. […] I know you’ve got a team of coaches and stuff … but it just seems to all be on one [person].”

Amid the development, Coleen has been posting on her Instagram Story this week. It included her sharing a post by former campmate Melvin Odoom, in which he described last year as “wild, scary, fun and emotional” alongside various photos. The first photo showed Coleen and others at the final, and it was highlighted when she shared the post alongside a green heart emoji.

Coleen also shared a photo of her youngest son Cass, six, on the platform on Thursday night. It showed him in football training at RH Elite Coaching in Manchester, which has also worked with his eldest brothers Kai, 15 and Klay, 11, recently.

Cass – who had joined his grandparents and brother Kit, eight, in Australia to support Coleen – is seen running with a football on a pitch. The coach tagged both Coleen and Wayne in the post, which had the caption: “Up the RH.”

An account on X, formerly known as Twitter, for the coaching named Cass as the student in the photo. It also shared a photo of Klay in a training session on Thursday and a video on Tuesday showed Kai practising on the pitch.

Coleen teased that her kids have a busy schedule before doing I’m A Celebrity. She showcased two whiteboards that had instructions and timetables on both sides in a video shared prior to her departure from the UK for the show.

She said at the time: “I’ve planned and prepped [for leaving my kids].” Coleen added: “I’ve prepped as you can see, behind me, that is literally front and back four weeks of timetables, football runs, parties and everything.”

It has been reported that Wayne could become a “house husband” following his departure from Plymouth Argyle. The Telegraph teased that he will now take on the role and that his wife Coleen “is in the driving seat” at the moment.

Whilst a source told the Sun that although Coleen is “sad” that her husband lost his job, it will give her the chance to pursue more opportunities for herself. The source said: “It means that he will be back home with her and the boys and will give her more confidence that she can grab hold of whatever opportunities come her way.” They added that she has already received several “very attractive offers”.

The source continued: “Wayne’s football career has always taken precedence and rightly so given how successful he’s been. But it seems like it’s now Coleen’s time to shine.” They teased that it may be his time to “play second fiddle” to her.
