Lily Allen is said to have taken inspiration from Coleen Rooney to uncover her husband David Harbour’s use of dating apps before they called time on their marriage
Lily Allen discovered David Harbour had been on dating apps after an undercover mission.
It’s reported that the singer was left in “agony” after discovering David had a profile on a top-secret dating app. Lily had also joined Raya – an app used by those in the public eye or in the entertainment industry to date people in a similar field. But she didn’t use the app to find romance.
Instead, the 39-year-old created a profile in order to take part in a sting operation to uncover her husband’s rumoured affairs. The pair met on the app in 2019 and later disabled their accounts, but it’s claimed that David later rejoined the app, which has over 100,000 people on its exclusive waiting list.
A source claims that Lily looked for women on the dating app and later cross-referenced them with the women that David follows on his public Instagram account. “Lily was looking for women that were on Raya and cross-referencing them with women David follows on Instagram to try to figure out who he was seeing. She was doing her Wagatha thing,” they said.
The term Wagatha was coined after I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Coleen Rooney secretly blocked individuals from viewing her private Instagram Stories in order to discover who was leaking information to the media. After a string of stories emerged in the press, Coleen narrowed the account down to the account used by Rebekah Vardy. Vardy, who also appeared on the ITV show continues to deny wrongdoing.
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, a source said: “Lily only rejoined Raya to try to figure out whether he was seeing someone. Lily has never even looked at anyone since she met David. She is devastated. He broke up with Lily a month ago. He was meant to be on holiday with her in Kenya over Christmas.”
Neither David nor Lily have spoken about their relationship. According to the publication, David’s profile states that he is “visiting New York from Atlanta” and is a “closet nerd that plays tough guys on your TV.” Meanwhile, sources close to the singer believe that he has been “open to meeting new people for some time now” and that she found out about his profile over the summer.
But Lily’s secret detective work uncovered that David was said to be in India last week and was reportedly spotted with another woman at a temple located in the Himalayan foothills. Meanwhile, she jetted out of the UK with her daughters and headed on a safari holiday amidst her split, having spent Christmas without her husband.
Lily and David made their red carpet debut at the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 19, 2020. They obtained their marriage certificate and wed on September 7, 2020, in Las Vegas, with an Elvis Presley impersonator acting as the officiant. Their announcement left fans in shock when they took to social media to share a string of snaps taken from their once happy day.
Representatives for David and Lily were not immediately available for comment.
