Roger, a 10-week-old Akita Staffie cross, has been left heartbroken at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in South Lincolnshire, as he is still searching for his forever home

While all his siblings have found new homes, poor Rodger remains in kennels, waiting for his turn.

The 10-week-old pup has been patiently waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in South Lincolnshire for a potential owner to come forward, but sadly, another day has passed without any rehoming applications. The unfortunate Akita Staffie cross is reportedly worried he’ll become the “puppy everyone forgets” and “doesn’t understand why he was left behind”.

His rehoming application reads: “My name is Rodger, and I’m a 10-week-old puppy with a heart full of love, just waiting for someone to notice me. All of my brothers and sisters have already been chosen – they’re settling into their new homes, surrounded by love and cuddles.

“But me? I’m still here. Still waiting. Still hoping.

“I don’t understand why I was left behind. I watch as the others leave, one by one, tails wagging as they head off to their new lives… and I wonder when it will be my turn.”

Described as a “playful, wriggly, and oh-so-cuddly” dog, Roger is currently a bit clumsy, but he’s expected to grow into a big, strong dog. He’s still undergoing basic training and requires an owner who can patiently and understandingly continue this process with him, reports the Express.

‘I just need a chance’

The application further states: “I dream of a family who will love me through all of it-my silly puppy days, my awkward teenage phase, and my loyal, loving adulthood. I just need a chance.

“I love meeting new people and animals, and with the right socialisation, I know I can grow into a confident, well-mannered dog. Training classes would be amazing-not just to learn good manners, but also to spend time bonding with my new family.”

He is suitable for a home with children aged seven and above, and requires a secure garden with a six-foot fence. He could potentially cohabit with another dog and possibly other pets, given a gradual introduction.

The application concludes: “Right now, I’m all on my own, waiting for someone to say, ‘I choose you’. I don’t want to be the puppy everyone forgets.

“I have so much love to give – I just need someone to take a chance on me.”

“Could you be the one to show me that I’m not forgotten? That I am special? I’m ready to go home right now… if only someone would say yes.”
