McFly star Danny Jones and his model wife Georgia Horsley are said to have held crisis talks after he was filmed kissing Love Island star Maura Higgins at the BRIT Awards
Danny Jones and his wife are said to have had serious discussions following his drunken kiss with Maura Higgins, but are said to be ready to move on and make a go of their marriage.
The 38 year old McFly star shocked fans when footage of him getting cosy with the 34 year old Love Island star after the BRIT Awards surfaced. The pair were seen sharing several kisses after the music awards ceremony at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday night, before heading off together to a lavish party.
Danny, who has been married to Georgia Horsley since 2014 and has a son named Cooper with her, was spotted kissing Maura at Universal Music’s afterparty at 180 Studios on the Strand. Both Maura and Danny featured in the recent series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where Danny was crowned King of the Jungle.
But Danny and wife Georgia – to whom he has been married since 2014 – are reportedly “keen to just move past it and get on with their lives”. A source said of the kissing saga: “This saga has been embarrassing and Danny had a lot of explaining to do,” an insider revealed.
On Saturday night, Danny and Maura were reportedly seen engaging in lengthy conversation and laughter at the event. One source suggested that Danny was offering advice to Maura, and at one point, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder while she leaned her head against him as they chatted with friends.
Another insider has spoke to The Sun about Danny and Georgia’s current situation following the recent scandal. According to the source, the couple, who have seemingly steered clear of their London pad lately, have had a heart-to-heart about the infamous kiss.
“They are keen to just move past it and get on with their lives,” the source divulged. The pair have taken some time away to focus on what matters most: “They’ve been away for a few days and they are focused on being a family unit. Danny and Georgia are both committed to each other and are moving on with their lives.”
Despite the turmoil, Danny and Georgia appear to remain dedicated to each other and are determined to move forward together. Danny and Georgia share a seven year old son. Meanwhile, Maura, who found herself at the centre of the storm, had a brief romance with TOWIE’s Pete Wicks that ended last month.
Georgia, Danny’s wife, has been inundated with messages of encouragement from well-wishers, with one person commenting: “I’m so sorry if it’s true with Danny.” Another offered comforting words: “I’m so, so sorry, you are such a beautiful person inside and out. We are all here for you xxxxx.”
Following his victorious return from ‘I’m A Celebrity’ last year, Georgia and Danny shared an emotional moment. With a hectic 2024 behind him – featuring appearances on ‘The Masked Singer’, mentoring on ‘The Voice’, and an enduring stay in an Australian jungle – Danny’s absence had left Georgia feeling overwhelmed.
She openly shared her exhaustion in a January post, paired with a video from her solo retreat to a cabin clad in snow. Georgia revealed her motivations behind the getaway, saying, “I was going into this New Year burnt out. Everything I didn’t want to feel entering 2025… I felt. Over a month of solo parenting, moving house on my own, working hard on my career whilst Danny was in the jungle with snakes in his pants was A LOT!”.
“So whilst I was still in Australia I decided I needed to do something for me… a solo trip, one to push me out of my comfort zone but also one to give me the break I craved. So… I booked a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, somewhere near Shropshire, and found a little nugget of calm in my overwhelmed brain. I chopped fire wood, built fires, sat in silence, read books, slept, took in the views, watched the sheep in the nearby field… and it was perfect.”
