The wife of McFly star Danny Jones has revealed she felt “happy and content” during a recent trip with just her and their son Cooper, after suffering from mum guilt
Danny Jones’ wife Georgia Jones has opened up about a parenting move she feels “terrible” about.
The influencer, who shares seven-year-old son Cooper with the McFly star, 38, candidly discussed the relatable difficulty of juggling her work with parenting.
Reflecting on a particular moment that left her feeling guilty, the 38-year-old said it’s her son’s bath times when she finds herself scrolling on her phone the most.
Opening up on her podcast Mum’s The Word alongside co-star Kelsey Parker, she shared: “I will hold my hands up here and make all the other parents out there feel a lot better by saying, sometimes I am absolutely not in the moment and I do beat myself up about it.
“And it is very poor parenting on my part because sometimes what will happen is…do you know when I notice it?
“When Coop is in the bath. Coop is sat in the bath and I’ll just sit there scrolling on my phone while he’s in the bath.
“And I’m doing it and then all of a sudden I go, what am I doing?”
Georgia acknowledged that such a moment is “perfect” for them to bond together, but admits work had sometimes gotten in the way.
“There are times when I don’t even realise I’m doing it, and then there are other times where I’m like, oh God, I feel terrible.
“Like it’s a bit s*** because I don’t want Cooper to remember his childhood with me just being on my phone all the time,” she added.
The podcast host has since experienced happier feelings following a recent trip to Cornwall with Cooper, while Danny was away on tour.
Georgia said after work on the trip wrapped up, she ensured all attention was on their son.
Reflecting on the quality time they had together, she added: “I came away from it feeling so happy and, like, content, so I can only imagine what Cooper must have felt like.”
Danny and Georgia, a former pageant queen, have been married since 2014.
Last year, viewers got an insight into the couple’s relationship during his stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
As part of the show, Georgia and Cooper surprised him in the jungle which sparked emotions from all.
At the time, while holding their son in his arms, he said as part of the encounter: “Honestly this place is an amazing place, even though it’s been challenging. It just makes you realise how much you love people and you put stuff into perspective.”
Later on, the couple put on a loved-up display when he was crowned the King of the Jungle.
