Donald Trump may have no choice but to give Russian dictator Vladimir Putin everything he wants to end the brutal war in Ukraine as security sources claim he will not compromise

Vladimir Putin has “no intention” to compromise on his demands to end his bloody war in Ukraine, meaning Donald Trump may end up agreeing to all of his terms.

The US President previously said he is considering sanctions and tariffs on Russia unless a ceasefire is agreed and peace reached with Ukraine. However, according to Bloomberg, western security officials say Putin has no intention of backing down on his demands for lands before any agreement on withdrawing troops from Ukraine. Putin is also said to be refusing to budge on not allowing western peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.

As a result, to finally end the war Trump may have to give in to the Russian President’s demands. In June, Putin said he wanted international recognition of the Kremlin’s claims on annexed land in Ukraine. He also demands the demilitarisation of its enemy and has previously demanded Ukraine is not admitted into NATO.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said last week: “We see no room for compromise.” The Russian leader is prepared to continue fighting if he doesn’t get his goals, officials told Bloomberg.

It comes as crunch talks between the US and Ukraine have got underway in Saudi Arabia today. Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump previously said: “Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely ‘pounding’ Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large-scale banking sanctions, sanctions, and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire and final settlement agreement on peace is reached. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!”

It follows the incredible falling out between Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump in the Oval Office. Afterwards, Trump ordered all US aid to Ukraine cancelled. Meanwhile, army chiefs from more than 30 countries have arrived today in Paris for talks on creating an international force to deter future Russian aggression once a ceasefire is established. The plans include troop size, location and, crucially, military options in the event of a transgression.

The Paris meeting is the most significant culmination so far of French and British efforts to rally nations under a so-called “coalition of the willing” to safeguard Ukraine by establishing a reassurance and deterrence force to dissuade Russia from invading again.

The talks will include nearly all 32 NATO countries – with the United States having no part in it. Commonwealth nations and Asian powers Japan and South Korea will also be in attendance.

French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said: “This meeting is important because it lays the ground for these security guarantees. European armed forces can gain credit and credibility for diplomatic talks which will, unquestionably, extend over the long term.”
