Emmerdale cast member Lisa Riley has commented on the latest episode of the ITV show which focused on the aftermath of the recent limo collisions, one of which has proved fatal

Cast member Lisa Riley has issued a bold statement this week amid Emmerdale fans awaiting news on who has survived the limo crash.

Recent episodes of the ITV soap have shown the aftermath of a limo crashing onto a frozen lake. Several characters have been put at risk and Suzy Merton (played by Martelle Edinborough) is thought to have already died in the collision.

Fans – who have been given a behind-the-scenes glimpse at stunts for the show – are now waiting to find out who has survived the incident. It’s been confirmed that at least one more character has been fatally injured. And it’s yet to be revealed if there are any serious injuries from a separate incident in which another limo swerved off the road too.

Among those inside that limo, which didn’t crash onto the lake, was Mandy Dingle – played by Lisa, 48. She was joined by relatives including Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and tensions rose between the group following news of infidelity.

Lisa shared a message with her followers on Instagram shortly before Tuesday night’s episode. The actor – who was initially on the show from 1995 to 2001, before returning in 2019 – said that it was the “best episode” she’s “ever” seen.

Beside a photo of the limo sinking into the lake, she wrote: “Honestly TONIGHTS episode of @emmerdale 7.30pm is the best episode I have EVER EVER EVER seen, in all my years, the drama, the performances, could not be more proud of our #emmerdale team. CONGRATULATIONS EMMERDALE.”

During the episode, viewers saw Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) pulled out of the lake by Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) after becoming trapped underneath the ice. It has yet to be revealed whether she’s survived the incident.

Later, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) was seen dragging herself and injured Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) across the ice to safety. Whilst Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) further deteriorated after sustaining a head injury in the crash.

Towards the end of the episode, Amy, Leyla, Liam and Noah Dingle (Jack Downham), who was found passed out nearby, were seen being taken into ambulances. And it was then revealed that one of them has died on the way to hospital.

Elsewhere in the episode, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) told his wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) that he had slept with his sister-in-law Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly). And Cain’s brother Caleb Dingle (William Ash), who had been beaten up by his sibling following the second limo incident, confronted his wife Ruby over the infidelity but the couple ended up reconciling.

Emmerdale continues on Wednesday night from 7.30pm on ITV, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
