The doctor listed a number of symptoms including brittle nails, clicking joints and more. He linked these to the different nutrition your body requires and shared why.

In his informative video, Dr Sethi elaborated: “Five signs your body needs more nutrition. I’m a gastroenterologist, so hit that follow button.

“First, brittle nails is usually a sign of protein or iron deficiency. Second, twitching of the eyelids or limbs. It may indicate magnesium deficiency, which is vital for nerve function.

“Third, clicking joints could mean that you are deficient in vitamin D3 or Calcium. Fourth, premature greying of your hair, often a sign of vitamin B12 or copper deficiency, which are crucial for hair colour.

“And fifth, easy bruising might mean that you are low on vitamin C or vitamin K1, which are both essential for collagen and blood clotting.”

A diet that provides an insufficient intake of vitamins and minerals can cause several symptoms, some of which are more serious than others. Increasing your intake of foods rich in the appropriate vitamins and minerals may help you manage nutrient-deficient-related symptoms.

However, it’s always helpful to speak with a healthcare professional before making significant dietary changes and if you’re considering supplementation.
