Samsung’s new replacement for the Galaxy S24 is now official – meet the new Galaxy S25.

Samsung’s latest smartphones are official and they look out of this world. The latest Galaxy S25 range – which replaces the current S24 – has just been unveiled at a launch event in San Jose, California and they get a massive speed boost, sharp-shooting cameras and are now the lightest flagship phones the Korean firm has ever made.

They are also made of tough stuff, which should mean less chance that you’ll break them, and Samsung has packed the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor inside, which offers a 40% bump in performance.

There are three models to choose from including a standard 6.2-inch version alongside a bigger 6.8-inch Plus device and ultimate Galaxy S25 Ultra.

That super premium phone gets a massive 6.9-inch display with almost invisible bezels – that should make this gadget the perfect phone for a blockbuster movie binge.

The Ultra also gets the famous S Pen stylus tucked inside its titanium shell plus there’s an improved vapour chamber which makes sure things stay cool when playing console-style games.

The quad rear camera has had a boost as well with the Ultra able to snap better close-ups, offer improved zoom and film brighter videos at night.

It’s not just the hardware that’s been upgraded. Samsung is also introducing smart new features on these devices inlcluding a “Now Bar” which pops up across the bottom of the phone to show you the football scores, timers or how long the commute to work will take.

There’s also a “Now Brief” which offers a quick snapshot of the day ahead including weather, important news and diary events – now you have no excuse for missing your wife’s birthday.

You can also find photos or adjust settings using just your voice and there’s improved Google features with “Circle to Search” not only showing what something is but also the best and cheapest places to buy it.

There’s even a smart new AI Select option which can scan things such as football or airline tickets and automatically add the event to your diary or show you how to get there via your maps app.

There’s more good news if you want to keep your phone for longer. Not only has Samsung covered its new call makers in tougher Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass but you’ll also get a whole 7 years of software and security updates.

These devices will go on sale soon, and prices will start at £799.

“Last year we launched the first AI smartphone. In the UK, we now have nearly 5 million active Galaxy AI users – a number that is only going to grow as AI becomes even more personal, intuitive and accessible. Our Galaxy S25 series is a true AI companion, adapting to you and your needs,” said Annika Bizon, Director of Mobile Experience, Samsung UK & Ireland.

“Modern life is busy, so our latest AI features focus on saving you time to do more of what you love. Whether it’s keeping on top of to-do lists, helping to organise family gatherings or setting you up for the day with wellbeing updates and travel reminders, AI becomes a companion that goes at your own pace and helps you juggle life’s demands.”
