One Hollywood star, known for his outlandish comments, has claimed Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were killed

Hollywood star Randy Quaid has boldly claimed Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were ‘murdered’ like he thinks Heath Ledger was.

Gene, Betsy and one of their three dogs were found dead at their Santa Fe home in New Mexico earlier this week. At first, there was speculation to whether the couple died from carbon monoxide poisoning. However, as there were no signs of a gas leak and they didn’t have signs of CO poisoning, the mystery of their deaths deepened.

It has since been revealed the last activity on Gene’s pacemaker was on February 17 – nine days before he was found – while a bottle of pills was found close to Betsy’s mummified body in the bathroom. The cause of their deaths is still unknown and authorities have said there are no indications of foul play.

Despite the no indications of foul play, conspiracy theories have made its rounds in recent days. Joining in on the conspiracies is A Streetcar Named Desire star Randy – who claimed the couple were ‘murdered by scum bags’. Taking to X, he claimed: “Gene Hackman and his wife are murder victims, some scum bags did it and staged it.

“Stop talking about the films he is in, this is how they get away with murdering famous people! Fake News starts generating film clips. How is it possible I know at least 6 people who have died like Carradine, Hackman, Ledger?” Not long after, he further tweeted: “I should become a special FBI agent to these investigations of Hollywood Murders! I already have some good leads on who killed Gene Hackman.”

He didn’t go into further detail on his theories. Randy, who is the older brother of Dennis Quaid, has long been known for making outlandish statements. Randy referred to The Dark Knight Rises star Heath Ledger’s death in his tweet.Heath was found dead in his bed by his housekeeper in January 2008. It was later confirmed the actor died as the result of a cocktail of prescription drugs. It was confirmed at the time by authorities: “We have concluded that the manner of death is accident[al], resulting from the abuse of prescribed medications.”

A source told The Mirror that the circulating conspiracies will be “upsetting for the families to hear”. They told us: “Speculation such as this is very unhelpful given its been made very clear that no foul play is suspected and both bodies showed no sign of any blunt trauma. The only thing pending is the toxicology and trying to piece together the couple’s last moments. The police have been very transparent with the investigation so far. It will be upsetting for the families to hear such wild conspiracies.”

Actor Randy previously made claims about Heath and David Carradine’s deaths. In 2011, they told Variety the two late stars were killed by “The Hollywood Star Whackers”. However, David died from asphyxiation in June 2009 after he was discovered in a hotel room in Bangkok. His death was ruled an accident.
