Dr Idriss’ skincare has finally launched in the UK, which means you can now get your hands on the pigmentation-fading serum that’s been called a ‘holy grail’ by shoppers

If skin discolouration, hyperpigmentation and dark spots have been the bane of your skin’s life, you might want to check out newly launched brand, Dr Idriss. The dermatologist-founded skincare brand has finally landed in the UK, and brings with it a whole host of products designed to help create a brighter, more even skin tone.

After already racking up countless glowing reviews from international fans, UK shoppers can now shop the entire Dr Idriss brand directly from its website. Founded by dermatologist Dr Shereene Idriss, the brand offers a whole range of skincare staples that have been designed to simplify your routine and offer effective, straightforward results to common complexion issues.

One such product that’s already been lauded as a “holy grail” item by fans, is the Dr Idriss Major Fade Hyper Serum, £70, which helps tackle all kinds of discolouration whilst illuminating and brightening your skin.

The serum works to lighten and reduce things like dark spots and an uneven skin tone, as well as tackling discolouration and redness left over from spots and dark circles. The Major Fade Hyper Serum has been designed to be suitable for all skin types, meaning even those with sensitive skin can use it comfortably, and it’s gentle enough to be used twice daily (the recommended usage) without causing irritation or damaging your skin barrier.

The Major Fade Hyper Serum is also safe to use with topical prescription medications, and you can also use it on your neck and chest safely to tackle any hyperpigmentation and discolouration there, too.

It contains alpha arbutin which improves the appearance of uneven skin tone, as well as kojic acid that helps fade the appearance of dark spots and diglucosyl gallic acid to visibly decreases skin redness. If all those acids sound a little harsh, don’t worry, because it also contains niacinamide which soothes and restores skin’s moisture barrier, and glycerin which hydrates and moisturises your skin.

To use it you simply twist the push-button counterclockwise to the on position then click two to four pumps onto your skin before gently massaging it across your face. The Major Fade Hyper Serum also comes with two cartridges to help keep the active ingredients fresh, and you can pick up refills once you’ve run out to help keep costs – and waste – to a minimum.

One fan of the product said: “This serum has become a holy grail item for me. With the help of this serum (and the Flash Mask) the tone and clarity of my skin has never been better. My skin is much smoother and so clear that most days now I often just spot conceal and have some fun with color. Not spending so much time on my base layer of makeup has been freeing and really fun. I’m so grateful to Dr. Idriss for making such a results driven formula that is so effective yet also incredibly gentle. Like I said, this is a holy grail serum. Love love love it.”

Whilst another added: “It really lightened a spot the size of a dime on the bridge of my nose.”

Another pigmentation-fading serum that’s gotten rave reviews is the La Roche-Posay MelaB3 Serum Intense Anti-Dark Spot Serum for Hyperpigmentation, £48. One person said: “This has made a noticeable difference to my dark spots in a few weeks already, really happy with the progress so far and hopefully it will continue to yield results.”

With another writing: “On my second bottle and been using for about 12 weeks. It goes on nicely and sinks into skin quickly. Post blemish marks have definitely gone away quicker since using.”
