The UK’s Office for Product Safety and Standards has warned users to stop using the air fryer straight away after finding a technical fault is responsible for it catching fire

British officials have issued an urgent product recall for a dangerous air fryer that could catch fire.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards is warning users to stop using the Pro Breeze 2L Air Fryer straight away as a technical fault could put it at risk of catching fire.

The fault causes the air fryer – which is available on online retailer Amazon – to overheat, leaving it vulnerable to igniting.

The office issued the recall after concluding that the model does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

The Pro Breeze air fryer range has products that range in price from £90 to £120, with one specific unit reportedly affected by the potentially dangerous fault.

The affected air fryer has a model number is AF-03-UK and barcode of 5060596022409, the 2L also has an Amazon barcode of X0014E52NJ.

The firm has called on customers to immediately unplug the air fryer from its main power supply and urgently return the product.

The Office for Product Safety said in its alert released today that the fryer “presents a risk of fire as it is possible for the internal components to overheat and ignite”.

Those who need to return the product must complete a recall registration form found on the Pro Breeze website.
